It’s Fine Press Friday!
We continue with our presentation of Winter Books from the Minnesota Center for Book Arts (MCBA) with Minnesota writer Will Weaver’s Snares, published in 1992 with six wood engravings by fellow Minnesotan Deborah Mae Broad in an edition of 260 copies signed by both the writer and artist. This is the fifth title in the annual commissioned series celebrating winter in the Upper Midwest. Once again, the book was designed by Gaylord Schanilec and printed in Bembo type on Basingwerk and Mohawk Superfine papers with the assistance of Robert Johnson (Melia Press) who was the MCBA Artist-in-Residence at the time, and interns Christine Brown, Spring Harvey, and Carolyn Swiszcz. Our copy is from the standard edition which was bound by Greg Campbell of Campbell-Logan Bindery in Minneapolis.
