Featured Article: William Moseley/Anna Popplewell
For this week’s Featured Article, we’re covering Willanna - the RPF ship of the actor William Mosely and Anna Popplewell. Will and Anna played siblings Peter and Susan Pevensie in the film adaptations of The Chronicles of Narnia. Due to the actors’ onscreen chemistry, fans speculated that they were secretly dating behind the scene. The rumours however, were never officially confirmed.
Willana’s FPF counterpart is Peter/Susan and although Peter/Susan communities typically allowed Will/Anna fanworks, some Will/Anna communities banned posting about incest ships outright. This is similar to the relationship between the Wincest and J2 fandom, where a section of fans are uncomfortable with incest ships but still like how the actors look together.
Icons were the most popular form of fanworks for Willana, but fanfics were also common. Many stories are set during or after Will and Anna’s times of acting together, or are AU where the actors enter the world of Narnia themselves.
