Bill trying to help will through a particularly bad ptsd episode?? Starts with angst, ends with fluffy kisses and very sweet words, plus bill is super comforting,

Will is shaking.

Will is shaking and that’s really all Bill knows when he wakes up at 3am.

During the night, they’ve kind of wrapped themselves up in one another; gone was the gap between Bill’s chest and Will’s back, lost to the chilled air of Will’s bedroom. Instead, Bill’s chest is pressed up straight against Will’s spine, complete and whole, with Bill’s legs intertwined and tangled with the smaller boy’s legs. They’d fallen asleep like this, with Will snoozing happily, but as Bill’s head swam with nervousness and sudden consciousness, it occurred to him how Will had probably been up for longer than this. By the rigid feeling of Will’s arms locked down against his sides and his stiff posture, Bill would guess an hour, maybe two.

So Will was shaking.

Immediately when he regained the ability to think, Bill was sitting up a bit in Will’s small bed that held the both of them. He reached for Will’s hand and he turned to him, still not sitting up, and Bill got a good look at his boyfriend’s face: scared, his eyes swelled and blurry with tears, and twisted as to not cry too loudly.

It occured to Bill that Will was trying not to wake him up.

“Oh, b-baby,” Bill was saying, and it came out like an exhale as he shifted Will towards him, bringing the shaking boy closer to his arms. Will shuddered quietly against his shoulder as his arms shifted around Will’s waist, and he felt tears wet the material of his sleepshirt. He rubbed slow circles into Will’s back, hoping to soothe him.

“W-what do you need?” Bill murmured into Will’s ear, and he felt the boy shudder in his arms again, letting out a long-held sob that nested deep in his chest, and Bill felt his heart break a little.

“Just… talk…” – A hiccup – “Just talk to me.”

Bill’s immediately struck with doubt. Talk to him… but why? Bill, with the broken voice and brain too fast for his mouth? Stuttering Bill?

But then the reality of the situation and the self doubt is crushed by the amount of overwhelming care, love and affection that he felt for Will Byers. It easily won out. So he talked.

“You k-kn-know… you’re the bravest buh-boy I know, r-right? You really are, no k-kuh-kidding.” There’s a shakily exhale of laughter from Will, burying his face into Bill’s shoulder again, and Bill feels a high of getting his boyfriend to laugh for a moment. He keeps going: “No, r-really, baby, you are. Everyday I’m a-amazed. You get t-thr-through so much s-shit that people don’t even realize. Not just the U-upside Down s-stuff, b-but that is a f-fuh-feat in and of itself… Really. I s-see you going about your d-day and you j-juh-just… ignore the people that are so s-sh-shitty. You are so b-brave, and I want you to k-know how much I l-luh-love you… I love you so m-much; I love the t-twinkle in your eyes w-when you’re about to r-race me, and I l-love the way you always c-cuh-calm me down, and the w-way you fix my b-bangs and h-hum your f-fuh-favorite songs and… just… everything a-about you, Will. Just everything.”

By this point in his rambles, Will’s breathing has stopped being so eratic. Bill can feel the smile against his shoulder. “B.S., Denbrough.”

“Not B.S., Byers! R-really!” Bill pulls away from their embrace for the first time since he brought Will into his arms to look him straight in the eyes. “I love you. I r-really do. I’m so p-pr-proud of you, and you’re the b-bravest boy I know.”

Will’s blushing, and Bill’s so happy to see him like this. He can’t reiterate or voice how much Will deserves more than this shitty PTSD, these things that come back to haunt him, so he simply and gently pulls Will forward to meet their lips in the middle with a kiss.

It’s gentle, sleepy, salty. Bill is content, with that. When they settle again into Will’s small twin bed, he plays with Will’s fingers until he falls asleep, and Bill wonders how he got so lucky.

Bill apologizing for his stutter and Will is just like "but it's the best thing ever, why would you apologize for that?"

“Talk to me, Bill.”

Those words. Coming from anyone else, they would make Bill out of his mind with frustration. He’s heard it from his mom, when he has mute spells for no reason; he’s heard it from his teacher when he refuses to speak in class on account of his stutter; he’s heard it from his friends when he shuts down from anxiety. 

Coming from Will, though? He lets himself speak. 

“I j-juh-just. I’m so… I’m so fucking- I’m so f-frustrated, Will, I’m so f-f-fuh-fucking frustrated.”

Will takes his hand in both of Will’s own hands, and nods for him to continue. Will’s looking at him with all of this care and love on his face, and it softens the frustration in his heart. 

“It’s j-just - my v-voice - my s-st-stutter. It makes me so a-auh-angry sometimes because I can’t f-fucking control it but I k-know… that… it’s n-not easy… I’m so s-s-sorry. Because of my… my s-suh-stutter. Because I know it’s not… easy to l-listen to, sometimes. Eddie t-tells me that-” A shaky laugh, “-so I’m s-sorry you have to l-listen to it.”

Will looks bewildered, his hands continuing to play with Bill’s own hand. “But Bill… I love your stutter.”

Bill’s flabbergasted. What? “Wh-what do you m-muh-mean, b-baby?”

“I mean what I said: I love your stutter,” Will looks down into his lap a little shyly, so Bill knows he isn’t lying, but he’s still taken aback by this piece of knowledge. Nobody has ever said that before. “It’s the best thing ever, why would you apologize for that?”

“I-I… I don’t u-understand,” Bill just says weakly, hoping that his point gets across. He’s lost all frustration to love and confusion. 

“It’s sweet, it’s charming, it’s so you. I mean, I would love Bill Denbrough whether he was Stuttering Bill or not, of course, but… I love your voice. It’s what made me start crushing on you in the first place, believe it or not -” Bill’s mouth falls open. What? “-so… I know it can be hard to not be self conscious about it. But don’t ever apologize for your stutter. It’s you, and I love you.”

When Bill is in college his dorm partner is a really sweet boy who is also in artist (*coughs* will byers) who illustrates some of Bill’s earlier short stories and they start dating and not only does this boy illustrate all of Bill’s book covers bc Bill thinks he is the most talented but they also release a series of graphic novels together
