in other exciting(?) news, guess who has acquired a physical copy of the 1968 vinyl recording of the stratford production of tartuffe, starring william hutt, douglas rain and martha henry (and some other people; i'm not going to list the whole cast)
don't ask how many convoluted steps it took to get this damn thing to me; i don't want to talk about it. big thank you to @asylos for being so very kind and helping me out!
the album is in quite good condition (some minor wear & tear on the box, but that's not a big deal in my eyes) and comes with the original booklet - featuring some absolutely hysterical photos of the production - and the three two-sided vinyl records, of course!
some of these might look familiar, since i've grabbed a couple of pictures from the scan of the booklet and posted them here before hehe
...and yes they did questionable things to DR's hair, i know. i'm sorry, i'm not happy about it either, but we're all just going to have to live with it ok
anywayyyy have a snippet of the beginning of part 5. featuring douglas rain as orgon (the dumbest bitch to ever walk this earth) and martha henry as elmire (orgon's wife, the only person with a consistently working braincell <3). she's proposing a scheme to expose tartuffe as a conman by using his infatuation with her against him, and DR is... uh. disgruntedly muttering and crawling under a table. god, i love this play
(a full digitised recording of this production can be found over here on archive.org)
