Closer to the Truth...
A cool breeze rustled the leaves of a grand Elwynn tree amidst the nightly air, sheltering below the slumbering lovers from the cold of the night. Clinging closely, intimately, William’s arms wrapped around the figure of his beloved Kalia, despite the fact that the two were very much fast asleep. Without a blanket, one would have thought the two would have even more trouble sleeping however, her intense natural body heat and his firm embrace ensured that the two would sleep warmly. And although dreams stirred within Half-Elf’s mind, he did not experience restlessness this night... In his mind he walked amongst the hustle and bustle that was Stormwind City, clear as day. Darting through thick crowds the sounds of footsteps scathing the cobblestone paths, conversations between citizens, and merchants displaying their wares had spurred a reaction from his sensitive ears, listening, looking for something. Unlike the dream in the night prior he felt in complete control of his actions and thoughts, in fact he was quite aware that he was dreaming. Turning a corner to walk down a narrow street, the scents of spices, pastries and other edible goods would fade as the smell of body odour, filth and waste would fill the air. Littered along the path and leaning against the walls were of Stormwind’s vagrant and homeless citizens. He took note of how very few of these misfortunate lot were actually in a position to look after themselves, most of these citizenry were afflicted with various mental illnesses, disabilities and disadvantages that would make living a normal life next to impossible without sufficient aid. Why did he choose to pass through here? He thought to himself. An opening out of the street lay ahead and he had nearly made his way out but not before glancing sidelong, taking note of one man who was clearly suffering from a severe mental disability. This man’s face bore a similarity to his own and it was this William caught onto what he was looking at... His biological father. This was another memory, something that at the time, William was unaware of. At some point he had passed by and didn’t even recognise the man immediately despite his observant glance. A result of the sophisticated enchantment he conjured over his mind... Again, with no reason as to why but at least one step closer to the truth. His biological father was alive and in bad health, just what exactly happened to him? Through his answer, another question had arose... But the questions on his mind could not be answered through dreams. The waking world will provide the answer he seeks. Stepping through the narrow path, William felt the dark close around and cover him like a blanket. Content with what he had found, he would embrace the dark and fall back, descending down the infinite nothingness that lay below him. The warmth of his beloved lingered closely, blocking out the cold that the darkness in his dreams would bring. And he would continue to fall, eyes closed and at bliss... ...Tonight he would sleep well.
