Grelliam one-shot, I guess.
Although he would never admit it, William found Grell to be incredibly cute when he was frustrated. The red reaper sat behind his desk, reviewing some paperwork that Will had set out. By his expression, his superior could tell that Grell wasn’t particularly enjoying his detention, but Will remained stoic and pretended not to be bothered by the way Grell’s pointed teeth poked out when he frowned.
On the way to have his spectacles adjusted, William had found the door to Grell’s office hanging ajar, so he couldn’t resist a peek inside. The scowling reaper hadn’t noticed him yet so Will relished the opportunity to spy on- er, observe his fellow shinigami.
Grell huffed and adjusted his glasses, a habit that the redhead had picked up from Will. He started grumbling something about paperwork and overtime and darling William (the last remark didn’t make Will blush, not one bit). With a despondent sigh, Grell’s flaming head fell onto the desk. William smiled faintly before stepping into the room.
“I see you’re as motivated as ever,” the brunette remarked. Grell shot up from his chair, beaming.
“Will! Darling, have you come to retrieve me from this dreary office?” Will dodged the incoming hug and adjusted his glasses.
“No,” he said flatly. “This is your punishment, now carry it out without so much whining.”
“I can’t help it,” Grell griped. “I’ve been cooped up in here for days, a lady must have some time to herself! At least let me reap a soul or two!”
William was beginning to regret ever stepping inside Grell’s office, but he grew bored without the eccentric reaper around. “One more day, and then you’re free to go back to soul collection.”
When Grell smiled, it displayed his set of wicked-sharp teeth and make it hard for Will’s attention to stay trained on the redhead’s bright green eyes. “I’m looking forward to more of our midnight rendezvous,” he purred. Will scoffed.
“I’m not scheduled for field work for three more weeks. You’ll be partnering with Knox.”
Grell flipped his long hair and shrugged. “Ah well, it can’t be helped. I’m leaving for the day, but I’ll be here bright and early tomorrow. See you then, Will.” Prancing over to him, Grell placed a gentle kiss on William’s cheek and left before his superior could yell at him.
He didn’t have a chance to see Will’s burning red face. Perhaps another time.
