“That’s real cute, Red,” Faith said, her words dipped in a sour mixture of amusement and disdain. It was enough of a challenge to find that balance between the two Slayers splitting responsibilities, but it was the inclusion of the Scoobies that really threw Faith for a loop. They were just so... not Slayers.
Which is partly why Faith felt oddly compelled to give Willow a few pointers, if only to make her less of a liability, since there was obviously no getting rid of her.
“I’d love to take it up a notch but lemme put it this way for ya- when you open doors, you’d have to really think about trying to break the handle. Like, put a lotta effort into it. It’s not gonna just happen,” she said, gesturing with her hands as if turning an invisible knob. “Me and B? We gotta try not to break the handle. Y’know?”
Faith sighed and reset her stance on the mat. Jab, jab, duck, sweep the leg. Easy enough, right? She’d even let Wil get one of her marshmallow punches in first. “I dig the enthusiasm, I really do. I just never had to do this with a partner who wasn’t... in the Slayer game before.”
