obligatory hello world
what is this blog for?
my portfolio website, willmeierart.com was originally meant to be the home to both my visual work and my writing, but seeing as how busy I've been with the latter, I needed to give it a new home–one that is optimized for mobile platforms, old-people eyes, slow computers, and those that I don't necessarily care if they see my artwork.
so welcome to the new home of my work as an arts-writer.
everything posted on here between now and 10/2014 will be work produced during my Urban Culture Project Studio Writing Residency through Kansas City's Charlotte Street Foundation. there is going to be a bit of a backlog as I post in the work that I have already produced thus far during the residency, but that's as far back as it's going to go. any questions regarding work that used to be on my main website (really old reviews, academic writing, etc.) can be directed to [email protected] .
in addition to the more formal-ish writing, this format will allow me to share shorter thoughts and other elements of my writing process that may be interesting to interested parties. this will be interesting. it will also allow hopefully for a more fluid distribution of my ideas into the world and a better connectedness with a contemporary-art-world that seems increasingly housed by tumblr.
hope you enjoy what you read.
here is where I write:
