I feel like there’s this divide in fandom over Shadow’s language habits. About half think she would swear and curse all the time if it wasn’t a kids’ show, and the other half think she wouldn’t swear at all.
Given the context that Chase is from a MUCH OLDER generation, he was probably instilled with the belief that those who curse and swear often are uneducated and low class. Being that Chase is such a power-hoarder, he would lord any bit of superiority he can grasp over someone. This perception on swearing could have easily been transferred to Shadow.
But we all know Willow is constantly swearing internally though.
