★ ˖ ⊹ 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐞 ⌕ . . . 𝑏𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑒 for #𝗐𝗂𝗅𝗅𝗈𝗐𝗀𝗅𝖾𝗇 welcome to my crib.
★ ˖ ⊹ WHAT NEIGHBORHOOD / COMPLEX DO YOU LIVE IN AND WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE IT ? WHAT MADE YOU STAY ?
i live in the juniper. originally i picked it because it was the nicest building in willow glen and i have expensive taste. i was supposed to stay temporarily while i figured out my next move. then somehow willow glen happened to me. now i know my barista's name , my neighbors wave at me , and i accidentally developed emotional attachments !
… bonnie's apartment is less of a residence and more of a physical manifestation of her personality. every room is saturated with the kind of maximalist energy that should feel overwhelming but somehow works. blush pinks collide with rich walnut browns. jewel tones mingle with metallic accents. vintage finds sit comfortably beside designer furniture. colors that shouldn't belong together somehow blend seamlessly beneath the roof of her luxury two-story penthouse in willow glen's most coveted apartment complex , the juniper.
★ ˖ ⊹ HOW DO YOU INCORPATE YOUR PERSONALITY INTO YOUR HOME ?
i basically took everything people told me not to do and did it anyway. maximalism , color , stained glass , paper lanterns , animal motifs , weird art , giant candles. every design rule got thrown out the window. if my apartment could talk it would interrupt people.
… the biggest influence behind the design came from an unlikely source: michael jackson's you rock my world music video. bonnie became obsessed with its blend of glamour , nightlife , and early-2000s asian-inspired aesthetics. folding privacy screens divide portions of the open floor plan. paper lanterns glow warmly from corners. carved wooden panels , lacquered finishes , and decorative motifs featuring tigers , cranes , rabbits , and koi fish appear throughout the apartment. the result feels nostalgic and contemporary all at once. equal parts luxury penthouse and y2k fever dream.
★ ˖ ⊹ WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF HOUSE GUEST ?
the kind that opens my fridge without asking and makes themselves comfortable. if you're still acting polite after your third visit , we're not close enough.
… despite the obvious expense of the space , the apartment never feels untouchable. bonnie operates under a strict open-door policy , whether she admits it or not. friends wander in without knocking. spare chargers can be found in every room. guest toiletries are stocked better than most hotels. the kitchen is perpetually filled with snacks , drinks , and enough food to feed a small army. more often than not her apartment serves as the designated meeting place before nights out , post-breakup recovery center , emergency crash pad , or an impromptu therapy office.
★ ˖ ⊹ DOES YOUR HOME HAVE ANY CUSTOM MADE PIECES ?
almost everything. the stained glass windows were custom. my dining table was custom. i had a local artist paint a giant crane mural for one of the walls. at some point i stopped asking " is this practical ? " and started asking " is this fabulous ? "
… when bonnie moved in , one unit simply wasn't enough. she purchased two adjacent penthouses and spent months overseeing an extensive renovation project. every trace of sterile modern luxury was stripped away in favor of something far more personal. standard doorways were replaced with sweeping arches. custom stained glass windows cast pools of colored light across hardwood floors throughout the day. hidden reading nooks , curved built-ins , and whimsical architectural details make the space feel more like something from a dream than a luxury apartment.
★ ˖ ⊹ WHAT'S IN YOUR FRIDGE RIGHT NOW ?
sparkling water. matcha. strawberries. too many energy drinks. fancy cheese. leftovers nobody is going to eat. hot honey. mcdonalds dipping cups. and approximately twelve cans of diet doctor pepper.
… for all of its designer finishes and carefully curated details , the apartment is ultimately lived in. heels are abandoned near the staircase. candles burn at all hours. music drifts between floors. xiaoyu ( her holland lop rabbit ) rules the space with quiet authority. the penthouse may belong to bonnie on paper but , everyone close to her treats it like home.
bonus fact: bonnie is the reigning tekken world champion. occupying one of the upstairs rooms of her penthouse is what she affectionately calls her play room. while guests expect luxury furniture , designer handbags , and enough candles to survive a power outage , they are often surprised to discover what is essentially a shrine to bonnie's nerdier interests. the room houses her extensive video game collection , ranging from modern releases to retro classics. shelves are lined with consoles spanning multiple generations , many of them lovingly restored or collected over the years. she also has a display case that showcases tournament memorabilia and trophies accumulated throughout her competitive career. beyond video games , the room also serves as home to her trading card game collection. bonnie is an avid collector of both yugioh and magic: the gathering.
cade devlin | TASK OO1 : hey wgn, welcome to my crib !
what neighborhood / complex do you live in and what made you choose it ?
i live at the juniper , had all the features i wanted . it let me customise as much as i wanted and there was a lot of space to play with.
how did you incorporate your personality into your home ?
first thing we did was get to soundproofing because i have a drumset by the windows which i use when i feel like it. it relaxes me. my mum fucks around with interior design , and we usually have this indoor - outdoor vibe going , but this time , i sort of compacted the lounge areas to the corners with the books and art so there'd be more floor space to move around in. the main living space , the kitchen , the home bar are all mood-lighting only. a space for relaxation in the evening , floor space for dancing. good to move your body. the bedrooms , bathrooms and study have a much softer theme , with a lot more light. two worlds in one apartment.
what is your favorite kind of house guest ?
the kind that can appreciate good music , good art have a proper drink and just relax , have a good chin-wag.
what is your most prized possession in your home ?
my home bar probably.
if your home had a soundtrack, what would it be and why ?
house in la by jungle. the lyrics don't have much to do with why i'm picking it , it's more of the sensation you get when you listen to it. it's the sort of evening mood i wanted. a little mystery, the low light , the dreamy invitation.
does your home have any custom-made pieces? if so, what are they?
oh ! i think … 80% of the things are custom made in this house. when i first bought it i wanted an organic modern feel and have tons of light comin’ in ⸺ so wide windows, doors, ya name it. lots’a items are floor to ceiling too, i just love the way it looks.
do you prefer painted walls or wallpaper?
hm ... i'd go with painted. there's just something about watching the paint go smoothly on the walls ⸺ it's therapeutic. sometimes i find myself watching one of those asmr videos and i just can't stop watching them. wallpaper's too much of a hassle.
what is the best feature of your bedroom?
the high ceilings and tall windows, for sure. space is good, doesn't make you feel too restricted, you know? i like being able to feel like i can breathe.
what is your favorite kind of house guest?
those that don't come fixing things 'round the house and just mind their own business, i guess ⸺ i love having people over, but i can't deal with anyone touching things that aren't supposed to be touched and moving them around and stuff. other than that, as the kids say, i'm cool with it.
how do you organize your closet? do you have a separate space for shoes and accessories?
well ... i have a housekeeper who comes every week to keep my life organised. don't know what i'd do without her, honestly ⸺ she's a saint. i usually hang the clothes wherever there's space but she helps me keep them nice and tidy.
julian occupies a three-story, three-bedroom unit in willow commons, and while a seemingly impractical choice for a bachelor living alone, the extra work and storage space has proven convenient for his design projects and miscellaneous clutter.
THE FIRST FLOOR is comprised of the living room, the kitchen-cum-dining area, a bathroom, and a compact backyard walled over by a tall, shared fence.
a) the living room — furniture are few and far between; he got all of them from ikea, with the exemption of the olive green velvet office chair that serves as the single seating fixture he has in the living room and the only pop of color in an otherwise minimalist (but not by choice) interior. he has an entertainment center, also from ikea, housing a 55-inch flat screen, a nintendo switch dock, and a small collection of blu-ray discs that he no longer gets to use after he sold his ps5 during a small crisis. he has a set of 5.1 surround sound speakers from bowers & wilkins that he never bothered installing properly, so they all just lay on the floor around the white shag carpet where he likes to sit, except for the center channel speaker that sits under the tv and the left and right floor speakers placed on either end of the entertainment console. he does not have a coffee table; instead, he custom-built a compact wheeled table with an adjustable height, designed to double as a lap tray whenever he feels like sitting on the floor. you will not find any decorative posters or any pictures on display except for a picture frame on the entertainment console, still with the stock photo it came with of a woman and a dog that he hasn't yet gotten around to replacing which misleads people into thinking that it's his girlfriend and his dog which he honestly doesn't mind.
b) the kitchen — looks almost exactly as it did the day he moved in, save for the addition of a fridge, a microwave oven, a toaster, an electric stove, a dishwasher where his plates are permanently stored, a few scattered spices that he still hasn't gotten around to buying a rack for, and half-finished snacks on the marble counter. knives and utensils are kept in the drawers—he has way too many after accidentally ordering triple the amount on amazon. he has like two drinking glasses and five mugs that sit on the open shelf between the upper cabinets where he stores his pots and pans, the handles sticking out, keeping the doors from closing all the way. this is also where pasta sauces go to expire and cookies go stale but he never has the heart to throw them out; he doesn't want to be wasteful, after all. he has his meals on a small, square wooden table in the middle of the kitchen (once again, shoutout ikea), accompanied by a single matching chair with a bad leg.
c) the backyard — used mostly as another (of several) storage spaces in the house. he has an old bike here, collapsed storage boxes, garbage bags of recyclable materials and broken prototypes he keeps forgetting to take outside. he likes to come out here to smoke on a vintage butter yellow lawn chair he got at a yard sale.
THE SECOND FLOOR features two bedrooms and two bathrooms—an en-suite in the master bedroom and a second shared bathroom.
a) master bedroom — converted into a working space where he keeps his home 3d printer along with various unfinished prototypes for his failed projects over the years. there's a long working bench in the middle of the room and a grey (once a baby blue) beanbag chair in the corner where he sometimes likes to take a nap or pass out for 14 hours straight. there's a huge standing shelf against a wall containing various paints and other tools he uses for his projects with no visible organizational system other than recent usage. his clothes and shoes are kept in the built-in closet space right next to the en-suite bathroom, the largest in the house, which has a combined shower and bathtub. he takes more baths than he has showers, since he can multi-task and frequently brings his compact table in there with him so he can enjoy his favorite show and... other hobbies. sometimes he'll step out of the tub and get straight to work in nothing but a robe (sometimes, nothing at all), which is his favorite part of turning the bedroom into a workshop.
b) bedroom — one of the extra rooms, smaller than the master bedroom, but slightly bigger than the one upstairs. the modestly-sized closet the room came with is used for... personal paraphernalia and extra blankets and sheets. there's also a laundry basket and a small nightstand, but the king bed takes up most of the room.
THE THIRD FLOOR is accessed by a narrow set of stairs that ends at a small landing just outside the door.
a) storage room — the closest thing he has to an attic. a dusty, musty room filled with boxes of things that have no place around the house or he can't toss out because he's a borderline hoarder. he also just gets overwhelmed trying to put things into categories so they all get thrown into what he lovingly calls his jakku.
what neighborhood / complex do you live in and what made you choose it ? what made you stay ?
"i'll be honest, having stairs can be a drag sometimes but, i needed the extra space, so willow commons made the most sense for me. that's what the real estate lady said, anyway. she said it'll be convenient for me to turn the rooms back into bedrooms when i 'get little ones' like... okay? thanks?"
how did you incorporate your personality into your home ??
"uh... i dunno. i live here? all my shit is here? isn't that already supposed to reflect my personality or whatever?"
if your home had a soundtrack, what would it be and why ?
"been into the yu-gi-oh soundtrack lately, so probably that. i use the spotify app on my tv 'cause i don't have a player. it sounds great on my speakers, have you seen 'em? bowers & wilkins 700 series. got the whole set on ebay for $3500. worth every fuckin' penny. should probably get some stands, but it's fun sitting on the floor and having them right next to you."
what’s your favorite spot to relax in your home ?
"they say never mix work and pleasure, but i like just hangin' out in my workshop. sometimes i'll bring a blanket in there with me and take a nap on my beanbag chair. or i'll grab some snacks and watch somethin' on my laptop."
what’s in your fridge right now ?
"uh... a quarter of a peanut butter sandwich... a can of milky soda i got from the korean mart... some eggs, i think? listerine, some hash browns in the freezer..."
what neighborhood / complex do you live in and what made you choose it ? what made you stay ?
" i live in redbud manor with my wife, gianna. i feel like we both got big personalities, so havin’ a big house like the one we got feels … easier. t’do the things we want without feelin’ like it’s more than the other. " a shrug, fingertips scratching at the nape of his neck. " i didn’t always like livin’ here, thought the houses were all … gaudy. people might be the same way. proved me wrong, i guess. "
what is the best feature of your bedroom ?
" our house has this perfect view when the sun is just risin’, feels like every day it’s peekin’ perfectly through the curtains when you’re wakin’ up. makes it easier to get up in the mornin’. "
what is your favorite kind of house guest ?
" that kind that knocks. "
does your home have any custom - made pieces ? if so, what are they ?
a hollowcheeked breath leaves his mouth as he gazes up at the ceiling in thought. " … few of ‘em. my favorites are the rustic cherry bench made for the foot of our bed, a gifted hangin’ pot rack, and … this one is my favorite, a real funny lookin’ flower vase me and gia made on one of our first few dates. keep it right smack dab of the dinin’ table. "
how did you incorporate your personality into your home ?
" i think … it helps that both of us have similar taste. we talk most of our design choices out. " he makes a motion like he’s putting down multiple things around him. " it ain’t too much of me and it ain’t too much of her, but this real perfect blend of the both of us under one roof. and t’be real honest with you, i didn’t know much about decoratin’ as nice until gianna showed me how. " a sniff. “ said the house used to look like an ikea showroom. "

what neighborhood / complex do you live in and what made you choose it ? what made you stay ?
“ i live at willow commons but it’s not really my place – it’s my dad’s. i’m staying with him while my bum ankle heals ‘cause early on having to hobble around a place on my own would’ve ended up with me eating pavement and another fucked up ankle. i’d be like that dude in spongebob with the full body cast with glass bones and paper skin. ” jude snickers at his own joke. “ safety reasons if that’s an answer you need. not sure how long i’m going to be staying in town after i’m back on both feet, but maybe one of the houses in redbud manor. the view of the lake is spectacular and i think it could be a nice vacation spot when i have the time and need a breather from chicago. ”
what is your most prized possession in your home ?
“ hands down my olympic gold medals. i have the one i got from the group skating event and then the men's single skating. i tossed around leaving them in chicago but i dunno … when coming back here to rest it felt odd not bringing them. ” jude’s nose automatically scrunches at the thought and looks away from the interviewer. “ they help motivate me on gaining back my strength and getting my ankle back to where it needs to be. my dad calls it a visualizer which i guess, yeah. i tell myself these aren’t the only ones i’ll get so they keep my ass in check with staying on top of my physical therapy exercises. ”
which room has the best lighting for selfies ?
“ selfies ?? i hope i’m not the only one you asked this to, ” jude answers, tone laced in mirth and coupled with a chuckle. “ guilty as charged – i am a bit narcissistic and i do have an answer for this. if it’s in the morning then i would say my bedroom ‘cause it faces east and gets the sun as it’s rising. any point after noon then i’d say the living room. it has good windows that soak the room in light. which – actually, wait a sec. ” jude walks over to the spot he’s utilized in the past for his selfies. he taps his phone into camera mode and holds it up. “ golden hour right here !! this is where i think gets the best back light. or the couch depending on the vibe i’m going for. you want to try ?? i can take some photos for you. ”
what is the best feature of your bedroom ?
“ hmm … ” jude hums aloud as a vocalization to his consideration. eyebrows stay knitted before recognition brightens his features, snapping his fingers at the answer coming to him. “ the record collection and record player that’s in there. have to give my dad kudos there ‘cause most are his and he moved his collection into my room since it wasn’t getting use for a while. so i don’t blame him since space is space, but now that i’m back it’s great just being able to parse through and play shit that’s unfamiliar. it’s helped me discover new music and is great for decompressing after a long day. i can play a record and just relax in bed. ”
do you have any home improvement projects lined up ? what are they ?
“ not my house not my problem as i like to say. but actually i think my dad would break my other ankle if i took a hammer to anything in the house. ” jude’s tone is more contemplative than concerned at the prospect. “ my dad is a pretty handy man; he fixes up cars for a living so he kind of has that initiative to try and figure out what the root of any issue is. which reminds me – the bathroom sink has water leaking out the faucet when you increase the pressure. so not really something i’m fixing, but i told my dad and that’s on his radar this weekend. ”

what neighborhood / complex do you live in and what made you choose it ? what made you stay ?
“ right now, i live at the juniper where i’ve been for a year now. my ex and i signed a two and a half year lease when we made the move from new york. ” hands on her hips, blue hues scan her living room in silent assessment before her shoulders raise in a slight shrug. “ we chose it since it was one of the newer complexes built with amenities that we both thought were a great addition – not to mention for what you get, it’s a good price. ” a chuckle filters out past her lips at the latter half of the question, falling flat even to her ears. “ my lease, i guess. is that an answer ?? circumstances have … changed and for as much i like living here, there isn’t much compelling me to stay. but in this moment we are close to downtown – specifically birch & butter which is great ‘cause my ass is close to paying rent there for how often i’m there. ”
do you have any home improvement projects lined up ? what are they ?
“ for a bit my ex and i were talking about adding some backsplash into the kitchen and maybe repainting the cabinets to add a bit of character. don’t get me wrong – i like how it is now since it feels a bit airy and open with the color scheme we have. it’s just the white, you know ?? feels a bit plain to me and like the room could use a splash more of color. but ‘cause i’m looking to save up money to go back to new york it seems a bit unrealistic. maybe pointless. ” scarlett awkwardly coughs and rubs at the back of her neck. she gestures toward the kitchen space. “ otherwise i think maybe light green or yellow would look good. ”
what’s in your fridge right now ?
“ oh, shit. ” an abrupt laugh escapes her lips. “ you actually just reminded me that i have to go grocery shopping for this week. i know there’s some milk and eggs, some cold cuts that are probably at the end stage of their life and should be tossed, and toll house cookie dough. i’ve been on a kick of just eating it straight up with a spoon. uh … what else ?? some baby carrots i keep buying but forgetting to eat, honeycrisp apples ‘cause they’re the best. ” scarlett pauses with a glance toward the fridge, eyebrows knitted in thought. “ leftovers from dinner the past two nights that have become this week’s lunch. those big boy celsius’s since they only make the best flavor in that dumb ass size – blue raspberry, by the way. in case you were curious. maybe some babybell cheese if we haven’t demolished them and then some cold brew and chobani yogurts. ketchup and mayo if you want the nitty gritty on condiments. that’s all i can of at the top of my head. ”
how did you incorporate your personality into your home ?
“ my personality ?? well, back home i used to like thrifting and finding cool decor or trinket items that help add character to any place. i really like more earthy tones while being a bit more eclectic and maximalist. if i’m living somewhere i want it to feel like me. otherwise what’s the point ?? why would i wanna live in a fucking mausoleum ?? ” blonde curls bounce as scarlett scoffs with a slight shake of her head. “ design is personal to each individual so it’s just finding what you like and what you want to see in your space everyday. each tchotchke or decor builds off one another until it feels cohesive. obviously tastes can change, but my vibe is just finding what i like or what i think looks cool that can add to my space. ”
how do you organize your closet ? do you have a separate space for shoes and accessories ?
“ i’m a bit o.d. when it comes to my closet organization ‘cause i have it down to an art. living in new york which is notoriously known for the lack of storage space makes you hyper aware of ways to save space. thankfully willow glen is a lot more accommodating for me and my shoe collection, ” scarlett jokes, chuckling lightly as she opens her side of the closet and gestures toward it. “ it usually goes by season so right now i’ve swapped out my summer clothes and all my winter clothes are in containers under the bed. i have it by type of clothing then subsets. so like here we start with tops but then it goes in order of cute going out tops, blouses, bodysuits, and t-shirts. i don’t care much of color otherwise it all looks like one blob and shit blends in with one another. i have a bad memory so i need the color distinctions otherwise i’ll forget some of what i have and what they look like. after tops we have skirts and shorts, then non-jean pants. i keep cardigans and sweatshirts at the end regardless of season since the apartment temperature can fluctuate and i get cold easily. my shoes have their own section over against the wall and those get sorted by color and type. whether that be boots, heels, sneakers ... you get the gist. accessories and makeup are at my vanity in the bedroom which helps make it feel less cluttered. ”
