1. legends or new canon?I like aspects of Legends, but boy does a lot of it go off the rails. If New Canon has anything over Legends continuity, it is having a group of people policing stories for both a general quality control but also an understanding of what is and isn’t Star Wars. That being said, I do appreciate that Legends provided such a detail and texture to the universe. While I vastly prefer New Canon, I miss the exhaustive lore there was for the wide variety of different species and planets that is mostly no longer in use.
5. Most overrated character I answered this already for @fang11803 but here it is again:
Did you mean every character in Rogue One? As much of a fan I am of Boba Fett, the guy honestly is just a background villain who took off for having a cool ass design. Legends Boba had a pretty solid personality and story that sprung up around him due to the huge cult following that developed, but in current canon Boba is pretty unremarkable. But he sure does look awesome!6. most underrated characterI wouldn’t call her underrated considering that she has her own comic title, but I wish more Star Wars fans were aware of just how great Doctor Aphra is. I mean, a chaotic neutral Indiana Jones that is also the first queer woman and woman of color to lead their own Star Wars title is a pretty big deal. She’s also hilarious, unpredictable, and just about pretty much everything I want out of a Star Wars character. Seriously, read her comics. She’s awesome.
10. thoughts on yoda?@fang11803 also asked me this one:I love kooky, strange wise-man Yoda with a sense of humor, but not so much the Yoda we see in the prequels. Keep the little green mystic with a chip on his shoulder and I’m happy.25. character you wish had more development or screentime@fang11803 again:Did you mean the entire cast of Rogue One? I do think that a clearer understanding of Mace Windu would’ve benefited the prequel films. In retrospect, it very much seems that Windu is intended to be Anakin’s antagonistic force within the Order, but also symbolic of the sort of misguided philosophy that the Order had adopted in its final years. The Clone Wars hints at this, but again never fully dives into it. I think it would have benefited both the films and the series if a little extra detail was provided for understanding both the character and what he means thematically.
28. worst type of fan
Oof. Okay, I love Star Wars fans. I really love Star Wars fans, but I’ll be honest, we have arguably one of the more toxic fandoms out there. There are a lot of subgroups out there in the fandom that can be really mean and rude to a lot of folks. I could go through and name all of these different groups and why I think they are bad for the fandom as a whole, but I don’t want to be here all day or make this an overly negative post. (Maybe I’ll do one of my countdowns someday.) As a general rule, I would say that I hate fans that go out of their way to insult or belittle people for not sharing their opinion. Having discussions and dissenting opinions about the fandom is great and I love having these sort of back and forths with fans in person and on the internet, but I have encountered quite a few Star Wars fans that have taken disagreements to a personal and sometimes violent level. I mean, look at Marvel Star Wars editor Heather Antos. She was the subject of Twitter harassment and hate simply because she mentioned that she found the character of Boba Fett boring. (I also find that this sort of hate towards dissenting opinions seems to be disproportionately aimed at female fans and creators, but that’s a really thorny subject matter that again is maybe best served for another time.) In general, good rule of thumb, be nice to folks you disagree with when it comes to fandoms. It makes the discussions more fun and less damaging for everyone as a result.
