"What is the purpose of this?" Bo asks as he puts his hands in the pockets of his coat to shield them from the evening air. He understood the concept of turning on Christmas tree lights so it was illuminated but what perplexed him was why there was a ceremony and mass gathering for it.

"There you are. What time do you call this?"
Much like the first time he had given himself permission to enter Will's office -- which was the first conversation they had ever had, if he remembered it right -- Lucky had made himself right at home behind the desk and in the comfy chair that was usually his brother-in-law's.
"I need your English expertise."

connie takes an even inhale, and an even exhale, standing at the front desk. placing her purse on the front desk, she exchanges a strained but pleasant smile with a staff member who she'd ask to request will. connie probably should of called, he could be incredibly busy today, or not around at all, but she was desperate. there was news she needed to share with him before her personal hell strode into town — and possibly into his bnb. finally, catching a sight of him, she speaks before he'd even had a chance to greet her, "we need to talk, like, right now."

"I'd give that bathroom a miss," X advises the groom-to-be after he returns from the very same one he was warning him off, moving two shots out of his way to re-retrieve his half drank non-alcoholic beer, "I just got offered what was described to me as primo-coke. That's not what I sniffed, subpar at best."
"Kidding but it is snowing pretty heavily in there. I don't know where you're at with being around that but I do know I'd rather attend your wedding than your funeral. Or my own funeral if your almost-wife had my actual wife thinking either of us were having one of those kinds of nights."

"Thanks for meeting me," X says with a rare sincerity, the man in the booth facing him not one he knew well though he hoped that might change in the future. He appreciates what a strange request it must have been on the tail end of a series of texts of Will politely sharing his condolences with him on the loss of his father -- to meet him at a location he shared when he was back from Houston.
Most folk would decline with the same politeness that he had texted with, X imagines, but he's fast learning that Will Meyers wasn't most folk.
( And good thing too, because it had to take someone special to land Lemie Lewis. )
With a black cap on his head, X wasn't taking any chances with being recognised at the alcohol-free bar he had opted for, the conversation he sought too important to be diluted with looking over his shoulder and having to worry that he would end up on DeuxMoi's Sunday spotted.
"I wanted to get an opinion on something and I realised you're about the only guy I know who can give me a lived one."
