I’ve noticed the William Afton fans are quite split on what kind of person William actually is (more specifically in this case, how good of a parent he is)

and I’d like to present MY theory as to why the fandom is so split on this..

There are actually TWO William Afton’s

Let me explain my thought process,, so basically, there’s William Afton .father of The Crying Child, Elizabeth, and Michael. My theory is that William Afton has a adopted sibling who is, coincidentally, also named William Afton (I’ll just be calling this William "Will" for convenience sake)

So we have William and Will right? William hires Will to work at Fredbears (and potentially some other locations) and ALSO hires him to basically babysit his kids when He’s working (or when he just doesn’t want to take care of his kids, because William sucks at that) and Will is actually somewhat fond of William’s kids

eventually The Williams discover Remnant and Will goes on to do further research about this Remnant stuff by murdering children. William also tags along for the love of the game.

2 of William’s kids die, the mci happens yadda yadda you know the story ,and the two William’s get springlocked (likely at separate times).

Two William’s would also explain why there is presumably two spirits possessing Golden Freddy, the pair likely each individually killed a child around the same time with only one suit to put them in, and they likely weren’t willing to fight each other over it so they just shoved the two kids into one suit

Now, you may be asking yourself "Mimic, how could you possibly tell which one of the two Traps is William or Will?" And my answer to that is the ✨Jumpscare Animations✨ Springtrap’s jumpscare is a sort of hesitant lean towards the security guard (Michael), as if recognizing the, at this point, rotting corpse in front of him and being unsure if he reeeallly wants to kill him or not. Meanwhile Afton(more commonly known as Scraptrap)’s jumpscare lacks this hesitation, the only thing slowing him down being the table separating him and Michael and also his lack of an arm…

Now…here’s where the fandom comes in:

I believe that people are so split about William Afton’s love(or lack thereof) for his children, and the true reason behind this conflict is that both sides are referring to two separate characters within the series, TWO different Williams …

Watched Xtratunas Torn Alive and had a vision when I saw Williams sprite,,,
