Dear Mets ownership: WTF is up with ticket prices?
First, yes, baseball is a business and a capitalist venture. Yes, we can make a "statement" with our wallets by not going to games. But no, even if we DO decide to go to tickets, we will not keep quiet about it. Some out there have said that we should stop complaining, and let our wallets make our statement - I'm sorry, I'm not ready to resort to that yet. That hurts me more than the Wilpons.
I love baseball. I love my Mets. I loved them since November 1982 when I was born - I don't know any different. I don't know how NOT to go to games when I have the chance to. I get mocked and laughed at for that, but I don't care. I love my boys. THAT is why I go to games.
I am seriously wondering what the hell the Wilpons were thinking. I mean, really.
Now, I get that they are trying to sell packs, but some people just CAN'T get packs - whether it be for scheduling, traveling or cost. Many pick one or two games a season - usually opening day and maybe one at the end - to splurge. I live in Albany, and I am NOWHERE near the longest distance, and I won't buy ticket packs because of scheduling. I can't just go to work on a Tuesday, and take the train directly from work. I do that, I get there are 8 or 9 pm. THEN I have to get home. My family is scattered - Long Island, DC, VA - so if a family event comes up, and I have to travel that
