The Wilpons Are Getting Paid, They Should Return The Favor

The Wilpons are about to receive some more good news regarding their money issues. Major League Baseball is nearing an extension with FOX and TBS on television rights through the 2021 season according to NBC. A deal is likely to be reported prior to the postseason and will nearly double to $800 million annually – which means roughly $14 million to each team. This proposed deal and the deal struck with ESPN at the end of last month combines to give each team about $27 million each year just for national television contracts. Seems reasonable to think David Wright’s annual salary could be covered by that and then some…PAY THE MAN!

Selig Confirms Mets Fans Worst Fears…Wilpons Are Here To Stay

MLB Commissioner Bud Selig recently made comments about the Mets and their current financial state. Here are some of the highlights:

"I have no concerns whatsoever."

"I have a lot of faith in the Wilpons. I have a lot of faith in [general manager] Sandy Alderson."
