What kind of team are you building?

This article focuses on 3 different types of Leaders: Willy Wonka, Gru, and the Olivia Pope, and how their leadership skills make their team of followers. An Oompa-Loompa from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”. His team members are all the same style, type and personality. No one on his team is stepping out of line, being independent or going against the leader. The rules have been set and are being followed. What he wants is what he gets. Gru from “Minions” is when the team members are happiest when the team supports one another, and ultimately it's about what the team can do together. Individuals are sometimes hard to recognize because it's almost always about the team. Gru does have some favorites, but he does treat them all equally. The team members understand the overall objectives of the organization and how they fit into the team. They easily come together and contribute but understand that as a team they are at their strongest. They share ideas without fear of speaking up, being misunderstood or being out of turn since their voice matters and is respected. They can, at times, go a bit rogue on the leader, and the leader respects the team.
There are many different types of leadership, and some people prefer different types of leadership. Personally, my type of leadership is a mix of Gru and Olivia Pope. Myself, I am all about the team leadership, and still I like it when people speak out and express their feelings, and I myself respect their decisions. I also think that Willy Wonka’s form of leadership is very strict, and controlling and it is not a form of leadership that I would ever consider trying, as i respect the entire team and their opinions, and their right to express them self.
