I just learned that information about wind burns is not common knowledge so here's a wee psa: wind burns are a thing, much like sunburns and frostbite - the weather hurts your skin in some manner.

Frostbite is from freezing temperatures, sunburn is from solar radiation / the sun, and i was taught that windburn is from the friction of wind against your skin. I guess that makes it closest to a rugburn lmao

If you're thinking of moving to or do live anywhere with regularly windy weather, make sure you prepare for it as much as you do other conditions when you go out

Somebody told me my face was soft. Jokes on them 'cause it's raw skin from freezer burn. How'd I get freezer burn, you ask? I live in a place where it hadn't been above zero in 6 days.

When I run in the cold I get wind burnt on anything that isn't covered in minimum three layers. I'm sure there's another reason for it but I like to assume I'm just that fast

Soo, I didn't cover up my face when I was walking through the grocery store parking lot and now my face is wind burnt. It's not pleasant.
