Can be kept as pet?: not recommended outside of falconry.
Although still a quiet flyer, this variation of snowswooper has instead specialized for invisibility. Traditionally hunting on half moon nights or less, light pollution has it dramatically decreased its ability to cloak.
Out of desperation, they have started attacking larger and larger prey. On rare occasions, this may include creatures up to the size of an iguana.
More active during the cold months when there is less daytime, as this expands their range of time to hunt
Their call has been compared to the scream of someone getting crushed to death

In the storm plains those who heard colors and saw sound could hunt wind dragons. Only they would know the exact moment when the wind turned into storm, when they were no longer hunters but hunted. Only they would hear when colors stopped their singing and red started to scream.

Review:
I’m so glad I decided to read more by this author. While there were definitely times where I disagreed with word choice or thought there might be a little something missing, this was 1000x better than Dirty Ride. Clover was one of the best romance heroines I’ve ever read and Felix was absolutely charming, while I thought the Reaper/dirty cop sub plot left a little to be desired, I really did enjoy this novel.
Clover as a heroine was pretty perfect. She was strong and wasn’t afraid to show it, she was funny and knew how to laugh at herself, and most importantly, she was self reflective! When she was a spunky rookie just starting out, she thought she knew everything and that her superior officers were just trying to hold her back because she was the only woman on the force. But when Felix explained to her how not everything is by the book all the time and that you have to go with your gut, which she doesn’t have yet because she’s new, and she took his words to heart and thought about her actions and toned her spunky-ness down accordingly; that fucking got me! I loved every minute of it. She was also willing to admit her mistakes and her awkward moments felt so genuine and I loved her friendships and her relationship with her mom and and and… I just fucking loved Clover ok?
Felix was also absolutely lovely. He was so funny and kind, and very much the type of guy I would go for in real life, wholesome AF. But the two of them together was where they both shone brightest. They complimented each other perfectly and even after they got together they were never boring, like I find happens so often with romantic leads in novels. Their relationship progression felt so natural and not at all forced or instalove-y and I loved that her family finally ended up accepting him as a part of the family. The only part of this book I didn’t enjoy was the weird Reaper subplot. When Reaper tied into Clover’s secret being exposed I understood it, but after? It just felt weird. Especially Amelia’s abduction. It just felt out of place and it didn’t really have any consequences. Despite that, I will almost definitely be picking up another book from this series. Who knows, I might even try reading them in order!
