Right like Guts’ complexity is about Griffith. Like.. almost all of it, give or take his shitty childhood. It’s like, the fans who admire that aspect of Guts, yk he has feelings and he’s complicated and sad but soldiers on, still want him to be 2 dimensional by the end when he overcomes all that complexity so he can happily kill Griffith without feelings getting in the way.
Plus that house metaphor u used is perfect. Bc boy they love this story. Sure they have to pretend most of it doesn’t exist, but goddamn do they think this story is amazing.

The swordsman’s eye was quick to narrow in response when he mentioned his hair about being greasy, he was quick to process that it was reality, due to that being something Serpico would very much say, but.... He didn’t really answer his question, what was he doing that made him touch his hair... If it was greasy, why did he touch his hair in the first place? A small huff came from him was all that came from him... He would wash it right after he gets a bit better though, when all the burns that covered his skin healed a bit more, his skin was sure now going to be completely covered in scars..
“I feel.. somewhat ok, just really aching all over..” He mumbled, his head slowly starting to hurt, he felt a headache slowly coming up, but other than that, he felt somewhat fine, better than how he felt right after being burnt and trash talking Zodd..

—It wasn’t often when the swordsman hum or sang, it was something that was almost UNHEARD of due to how he was, large, covered in scars, killed monsters or people without a second thought, and that he wielded a hunk of metal called a sword, no one ever herd the man do it before, until now, when he had THOUGHT no one would hear, he had been resting against the rough back of the tree.
The Struggler had ASSUMED everyone was asleep, due to how quiet the forest sounded and how their bodies rose up and down slowly. The quiet caused his mind to wander, and before he knew it, he was thinking of his friend, Serpico, someone who he had REVEALED a secret to that no one other than Casca has ever leaned about. He himself also carried a secret from the blond, it helped, taking some weight off his shoulders, and by a some, only a tiny bit.
Due to the blond knowing his SECRET, the fact he was even able to tell the other, it was quite obvious he thought of the other as a FRIEND, hopefully Serpico thought the same way..
Before he knew it, he found himself humming, a small tune that described how he felt of the other and reminded him of the blond. To be completely honest, he swore that he would catch himself thinking about the other... But it was probably paranoia, is what he thought to himself, thinking the other may reveal what he had told him.
His humming wasn’t bad at all, if anything, it could be described as soothing..

This was a surprise, it was quite odd to catch Guts like this, the man resting with much more of a calmer and softer expression, it was hard to seem him like this due to him harsh features and stern expression he constantly wore, and how violent he would act when fighting a apostle, demon, or just some asshole.
He also actually fell asleep before Serpico had even finished making food and when it was still day!
It was probably because of the beating he took after fight a certain apostle and wearing the Berserker armor, it may have tired him quite a bit. The day was eventful and he really needed to rest, he had the habit of sleeping when it was day and awake during the night, but lately, he also hasn’t been able to sleep, which could also explain why he is sleeping now.
His bandaged torso slowly rose up and down with each soft breath he took in, his arm draping over his face while the metal other rested on his abdomen, taking off the metal prosthetic was something he didn’t do often.
He deserved to rest, but that didn’t last very long, a simple loud thump from what could be assumed was Isidro when goofing off and messing around woke up, Gut’s brows knitting together a bit, and his eye cracking open a bit, the single eye half lidded, obviously tired, but he didn’t seem to move from his position.
It was well known that Guts was a bit of a light sleeper.
His dark eye carefully moved around the room, and then over to Serpico.
