“A couple in Ignis were betrothed to be married by their noble parents. They realized they weren’t a good fit, but in order to avoid any argument, they decided to ignore any cheating and go on with their lives as though they were a happy couple. But, as a confession, each time they had an affair, they had to put a grain of rice into a box. The two boxes would be opened in their old days. Years and years passed, with war and famine tearing through the kingdom. By the time they were old, their families had fell out of prestige, and they lived their life as simple Tepig farmers. They finally decide to open the boxes when they were well into their years.
When they open the husband’s box, they only found two grains of rice. The wife says, ‘Well, you’ve been more loyal than I thought you were.’ However, the wife’s box is completely empty. The husband was very excited, and says, ‘You never cheated on me? Wow!’ The wife says, ‘Not exactly…’ Confused, the husband asked, ‘Where are your grains of rice then?”
“And she says, ‘How do you think I was able to put food on the table during the war?”
