I think a lot of people miss the point of Logan Howlett. That’s understandable, I mean he is contradictory and often confusing.
He is grumpy, doesn’t talk much, pushes people away, and runs from his problems, and doesn’t like himself. This is true. BUT he is also incredibly self aware! He knows what he is doing, he knows why he is doing it, and he knows why he shouldn’t! His thoughts are not a broken mess, even when he is at his lowest~ even when he has no idea who he is he is still somehow incredibly self aware! He is always honest with himself, even if he rarely is with others.
Now you see- a character like that, you would assume he is closed off. That he pushes people away because he doesn’t want to get hurt when he looses them? He’s virtually immortal! It’s Logical that when you know you will loose everyone you love: you want to not love, because you can’t loose what you don’t have.
Logan has loved and lost again and again and again and again. He has made himself vulnerable only to have that vulnerability used against him or taken away. BUT no matter how many times this man is hurt, used, broken, or betrayed by love HE KEEPS LOVING. He says he won’t out loud, be he knows and we know that that isn’t true.
You could say that is illogical, that he would have to learn from his mistakes? He should have learned his lesson by now, that love hurts. But you see he HAS learned his lesson. He is vulnerable with others, and he is constantly hurt because of it. But he has found that he can withstand any of that hurt because he has the ultimate healing factor: Love. Because Love doesn’t just hurt, it also heals.
