I had so much fun drawing this to accompany Beth Piatote’s short story, “wIndin!”, excerpted from her debut collection, “The Beadworkers.” . ’wIndin!’ is the “exhilarating game of kinship, chance & economic redistribution…ages 5 and up high plateau edition,” and it’s also what inspired the illustration — game tokens of moccasins, Appaloosa horses, beautiful patterns from Nez Perce corn husk bags… Such a joy to read and absorb and create.
