How To Configure Windows Hello Face and Fingerprint Login?

Windows Hello is an innovative feature present in Windows 10. It enables biometric security on the computer through facial as well as fingerprint recognition. For this, a fingerprint scanner or a specialized camera array is needed. With Windows Hello, users can make their Windows 10 devices more secure. Passwords can get easily hacked. Hence, fingerprint and facial recognition are better ways for accessing devices. It is also extremely handy, as users do not have to memorize and type in long, complex passwords. Setting up Facial Recognition

1.       Firstly, you need to go to Settings and then click on Accounts.

2.       In the Accounts tab, locate and click on Sign-in options. You will find it below Email & app accounts.

3.       Now, in the Windows Hello window, below Sign in text, you will see a Remove button. Click on Improve Recognition under Face.

4.       Now, you need to enter the PIN in the first box. In the following box, enter the Pin again to confirm it. Check the box below if you want to include letters and symbols. Press the OK button afterwards.

5.       Now a Windows Hello setup prompt will open. It will ask you to look directly at the screen. Just look directly at the webcam. The Windows Hello will enter the face when it recognizes it. Try to shift closer to the camera or move back a bit if it does not identify you. Also, make sure that the room is not dark.

6.       When your face gets recognizes, you will get prompted with an “All set!” text. Now you can unlock your Windows gadget with your face.

7.       If you were wearing prescription spectacles at the time of setting up facial recognition, then you should click on improve recognition and go through the steps again after removing the spectacles.

Setting up Fingerprint Login

1.       Go to the Gear icon and click on it. Click on Accounts and under it, select Sign-in options.

2.       In the Windows Hello screen, below Fingerprint, click on the Setup button.

3.       In the next prompt, enter your PIN in both of the fields. After that, click on the OK button.

4.       Now, the user needs to scan their finder on the fingerprint reader. The fingerprint will need to be scanned a couple of times.

5.       When you scan your fingerprint, a light will turn on and it will reveal the areas of the fingerprint which have not been read yet.

6.       Keep touching your finger on the sensor. Keep trying all the angles and try to press all edges until the entire fingerprint area on the screen is blue is color.

7.       After logging one fingerprint, you can add a new one by clicking on Add another. If you do not want to add a second fingerprint, then exit from the window by clicking on the Close button.
