Would you spend a week inside a well?

WI#9! Focused on just two things this week that had names I thought would be interesting to visualize: 1. The Wind Up Bird Chronicle- just finished this and still mulling over it's trippy transportive story. Can anyone chat?? Haha half jk. 2. Saw Death Cab at the Bowl this Sunday 🙌 This one is my fave song, morbid as it is. Realized in addition to an eclipse love story, it could also be a very scary movie title :x #windupbird #murakami #deathcabforcutie #copicart 🌒 #mcwklyillo
The point is, not to resist the flow. You go up when you’re supposed to go up and down when you’re supposed to go down. When you’re supposed to go up, find the highest tower and climb to the top. When you’re supposed to go down, find the deepest well and go down to the bottom. When there’s no flow, stay still. If you resist the flow, everything dries up. If everything dries up, the world is darkness.
Haruki Murakami, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle
It's not that either one is better. It's not a question of better or worse. The point is, not to resist the flow. You go up when you're supposed to go up and down when you're supposed to go down. When you're supposed to go up, find the highest tower and climb to the top. When you're supposed to go down, find the deepest well and go to the bottom. When there's no flow, stay still. If you resist the flow, everything dries up. If everything dries up, the world is darkness. Abandon the self, and there you are.
