Though you are right it does introduce everyone, I think it does a great job of mirroring what Abby is feeling. Her life has been upended, and she is overwhelmed. She is learning in a new town, while being both intrigued at her new surroundings, she is still very much lost and in pain, longing for revenge. And the show does a great job of making you feel what she must be going through.
And yes, the Pilot has to do a lot of exposition, as most do. But that’s to be expected and I think it’s done fairly well using the characters.
Ooh, an anon who's seen it! I'm glad to hear your review of the pilot. It sounds like, with the show being from Abby's perspective, as long as viewers can connect with her, there's a greater opportunity for them to like the show as a whole. (I'm also intrigued by the different combinations of interactions that Seamus teased in one of the panels. One of my favorite parts of Walker is seeing characters interact that normally wouldn't in other shows... i.e., Trey making a connection with Bonham and Abilene.)
