This was my first experience participating in an art anthology that wasn't fandom themed, and I can say I HAD A BLAST! I always wanted to have the opportunity to show off not only my skills but my love for my OCs, especially my hungry flying furball [Noddie] 💖
I had a ton of emotional support during the process, and even if I couldn't participate in the rest of the monthly prompts (because they even hosted extra ideas to follow up if you wanted), I can say I never felt behind during all of those months seeing everyone showing off their WIPs and gushing about their characters x3

Of course, as always, when I sculpt for these pieces, I don't try to finish the entirety of the figure, just the angles I will use for the shot I want to capture x) I'm an art cheater, I know hahaha

I'll probably keep that same palette too but simplify those patterns in the fur.
I fell absolutely in love with Decameron and the crew of tarot readings, do they have any lore outside of this event, if so is there also more references to them? I want to devour all their lore
Glad you asked, because her story is something I kept under wraps for so long: Decameron's species and concept are the typical alien life that studies other lifeforms!
In her case is because her species comes from a giant hivemind entity, which is so BIG she could enter the category of eldritch horror. And like any of those, the "Hivemother" can't move much from her place in space, so she divided parts of herself that specialized in one sense (smell, taste, touch, hearing, and sight) and sent her "daughters" to explore the world, gathering experience through theirs.
Decameron, of course, specializes in sight! Her subspecies is called "Seers". Deca, in particular, was fascinated by many civilizations that have a short lifespan (like humans) and how they passed their memories through stories... enter the practices of divination.
Deca was instructed with the aid of multiple witches and mages she approached, taking different forms from genies to demons... or downright under a robed hood like in the Halloween event xD
After a dozen centuries of perfecting her readings, Decameron decided to take on the mantle of teacher, spreading her card-reading experiences to the new generation of each species that had taught her that art in the first place.
So far, I have only named two of her apprentices (I will put them under the cut for how long it ended):
YUGEN (Left: "furry" design I use for simplicity; Right: anthro-alien design for Decameron's cosmic horror-adventure setting).
He's the most recent addition to Deca's teachings. He's usually incarnated in a rookie warrior who guards sacred grounds and their ancient artifacts. He's bad at shuffling cards, so instead, he mixes divination with "gambling" mechanics, taking advantage of his fast hand movements. Yugen is usually laid back, but it is a facade for his always alert mind.
GAMBIT (The only "artwork" I have of her, that was part of an original October challenge, origin of this weird retro-game graphics).
There's no better resume of her than the description I gave for that picture:
"A traveling entity that goes by many fake names, showing herself as an Oracle in search of interesting personalities to read their fortune. She catches clients as a spider does with all types of esoteric services, but mostly with the aid of her handmade card deck: full of intricate images of gold and silver, sometimes changing in her own hand... the book of the cosmos.
Gambit likes to tug with the fate of others... sometimes "robbing" and shuffling quickly the truth to make people change destiny, depending on what she sees in them. Her multiple arms and long fingers got enough practice to go unnoticed."
... yeah, Gambit is not as humble as Yugen, and so, when she thought she had had enough of Decameron's teachings, branched away and made her own wandering business of magical delights.
She isn't full BAD, but there's a reason why I didn't use her for the Halloween event: Gambit would have SASSED every OC brought on the askbox xDU She would have practically called everyone "Pathetic" the moment she felt their auras entering her area of vision.
What's Gambit species, you ask? I don't even know. I like to think she was once a simple mortal witch that was so tempted by the occult, she gained immortality... of sorts. She keeps alive thanks to robbing the fortune of other species, I guess.
PS Gambit is currently part of a cast of monsters of another bigger project I'm working on, [The Door to Barrioween], if you wish to check more about her setting and my tendency to mix the magic practices on my art x)

Or Christmas! Or Yuletide! Whatever you celebrate. I prefer to focus on the tasty FOOD and keeping hydrated (here Summer is a HELL) during it. Not much art either because my hyperhidrosis intensifies.
And that's why I decided to do something sillier this year! BY CREATING A SEASONAL SONA that's another absolute gremlin, not taking the holidays seriously LOL.
Made this new sona to:
1) Homage to my favorite Grinch live-action movie scene (the one where he says "Pucker up and kiss it, Whoville!" while hanging in mockery a mistletoe near his rear lmao).
2) Have a Seasonal matching pal for my friend's interpretation of Saint Nick (he always does fanart of him and my other seasonal sona, Corny).
And that's all! And if you are asking WHY the reference looks more rendered than the actual festive pic... is because I started first with that one while half asleep %D And I DIDN'T NOTICE I RENDERED IT instead of the actual picture that needed that render effect!.

Vhalen, Mechanical Opossum Rocker! This technically is my third try tweaking her design, near the original first concept: the 2nd looked more beefy... that I like, but at the same time, I felt it lacked something. Some ideas don't need much twisting to make sense.
