There was a smell in the air…sweet and sharp all at once. A lone light fixture was built into the ceiling, steadily illuminating the newfound space before him. Going in, going out of focus. He blinked long, dark lashes in an attempt to center himself, staring at the floor beneath him. Breathe. He needed to breathe. Slow and even. He needed to breathe.
