i'm thinking about my "selfship"/oc x canon au for bertrand and oh my godddd the drama is so good....

for background: the plot of "the royal romance" is that you, the player, are a waitress from new york and you & the crown prince of cordonia fell in-love with each other at his bachelor party

so maxwell (one of his friends and bertrand's younger brother) decides to sponsor you in the competition for the prince's hand. very important note: maxwell's noble family is BROKE and you're like their last hope 😭😭

so imagine:

you're unbelievably stressed out since you're the eldest son of a noble family on the brink of ruin. then your brother decides to sponsor a WAITRESS from america, in a competition that will pit her against seasoned noblewomen and actual royalty

so you're critical of her. scold her for being a fish out of water. but then you see how resilient and determined and creative and clever she is, and you start to approve of her

then you start liking her. admiring her. *loving* her.... and you have to force yourself to ignore your feelings because you are literally trying to marry her off to the prince!!!!

and the worst part is.... SHE LIKES YOU TOO!!!!

my extremely convoluted and self-indulgent selfship au where cordonia becomes a democracy and SparklingCider are allowed to live a peaceful and quaint life without ever worrying about assassination attempts or ruining any noble legacies anymore,,,,

samantha is filipino while savannah is vaguelyyyy coded to be brazillian (and we all know that brazil & philippines are twins)

there is literally a dialogue option in the book where you & savannah bond over thinking bertand's eyebrows are sexy

genuinely this was completely unintentional but hmmm.... seems like the duke of ramsford has a type....

(btw the woman on the right is savannah, bertrand's canon wife :3)

samantha is bisexual (because ofc, she's my player character) and bertrand is a tortured bisexual man 😭
