Dependant on the season, Gouffier is a team of 4 to 40 people who work hard to produce gourmet, juicy and stunning wines. Fred, originally from Fontaines and neighbor of the estate, a former corporate lawyer specialising in wine law, took over the estate in 2011 thanks to the full confidence of the Gouffier family. 20 years earlier, Fred discovered the incredible world of wine and said to himself "One day for sure, I will have vines and I will make my own wine". And here he is now taking Domaine Gouffier by storm! Gouffier’s conversion to #organicfarming in 2019 is the result of meticulous work undertaken 7 years earlier in the vineyard. This approach marks a deep commitment to respecting their terroirs, enhancing the diversity of their vineyards and producing excellent quality grapes. At harvest time, grapes are sorted according to the state of their health, either in the vineyard by the pickers, or in the vat room. Grapes that lack maturity are the most detrimental to the quality of the wines and therefore, careful precision is taken during the picking and sorting phases. The quality of the barrels is essential and Gouffier works exclusively with the DOREAU cooperage. With an incredible eye for detail, the Gouffier team select the origin of the woods and the toast according to the terroir from which each wine comes from. By controlling the entire production chain, Gouffier is able to master the finesse in each of their cuvées.
