I love Wing to bits and his role in Drift's progression was massive but i think Drift himself deserves a little more credit for his changes. Also i think Wing should be appreciated more as a character rather than just, only the guy who helped Drift. (Not saying he didn't, duh, thats definitely a big part of his role, but he's so cool and (imo) under appreciated by himself) of course no hate to loving them as a pair ❤️❤️❤️

idw Wing is not stupid. Yes, he's hot-headed and impulsive, but not reckless. He knows what he's doing. He isnt shown much but when we do see him, every choice he makes is well informed and intentional

Wing isn't naive either. He believes that Drift is a good person behind all that anger. Thats not being naive, it's called having faith. He knows exactly what the consequences of his actions are and he's fine with taking them if it means he can help others as much he can. In a way, he's like Optimus but more outgoing. And Optimus isn't dumb either

Please stop depicting hopeful characters as helplessly incapable.

Optimism isn't a lack of knowledge, it's knowing the beaten and broken side of life but believing good can still prevail. Because it always does

Hot take: as a huge idw Drift and Deadlock fan, I actually dont like it when he is depicted with animalistic behaviors in fanon material. Especially when it comes to ships like Dratchet and DriftWing.

I feel like it takes away his autonomy (which, btw, is a big part of his story: gaining personal autonomy). Drift doesn't need to be tamed, he's a person too.

The reason I like DriftWing in particular is because Wing is one of the only characters to see Deadlock as an individual that deserves fair treatment. He sees them as equals because they are. Drift isn't a pet and frustration doesn't turn someone into a beast
