Collection of Wingkin Activities!

Home ~
Nest making and Nesting - Pretty self explanatory. You make a nest out of pillows and blankets. I prefer to make them on my couch, but you can pretty much make them anywhere (including outside!)
Gathering Trinkets and Organizing them - Once again, self explanatory. This is for more crow adjacent Wingkins
Playing flying related games, or games with flying elements - These are one of the best ways to ‘experience’ flying without leaving the house or thrill-seeking (List of games coming soon!!!)
‘Preening’ and Washing - Just bathing and taking care of yourself. Birds are extremely hygienic, and for my own Wingkin experience, my species is as well. If you have access to a bathtub it also helps.
Outside (Low cost) ~
Hiking - Yes, I know Wingkins are known for flying, but it’s important to remember that Wingkin are known for foraging and their connection to nature. Spending time outside helps with said connection, and it relates with some other activities in this list.
Foraging - Self explanatory again. It also supplies you with snacks related to the kintype. PLEASE DO RESEARCH BEFORE FORAGING!!! Read books, watch videos, and learn native plants and lookalikes. NEVER EAT SOMETHING YOU FOUND OUTSIDE IF YOU DON’T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS!!!
Bird Watching - Great way to connect with birds. Watching them fly can also teach you the anatomy of wings and the mechanics of flight
Befriending Crows and Pigeons - Another way to connect with birds. It’s also great to study them as well since they get so close. Make sure to feed them bird-safe foods, and never forcefully touch one unless it allows you to.
Perching - Self explanatory again again. Best places to perch are of course, trees. You can perch on fences and roofs, but make sure it’s safe (AND LEGAL) to be up there.
River Washing - Really what I mean is playing in creeks and shallow rivers. Standing under waterfalls are great too. Please do not actually wash yourself with products in a river, this can pollute the water. And make sure to clean yourself off after when you get home.
Out of house (Medium Cost) ~
Trampoline Parks - A fun way to ‘experience’ flying, since most places have foampits in them you can jump into.
INDOOR zip lines - Traditionally seen as ‘safer’ than outdoor zip lines, since there are often foam pits and mats below you. Great if you’re scared of falling.
Rock climbing - Another way to get up high, and some places even have cords so you ‘fall’ inside of climbing down.
Falcon Shows - These are great to see a trained bird in motion. Though these are rare in some areas due to differing animal laws. Just make sure the show you’re attending is known for taking care of the birds.
High Thrills ~
(NOTICE!!! These are the most authentic ways to imitate flying. However, some of these require intense safety and training.)
Roller Coasters - While this should be counted with Theme Park rides, some places have extremely fast and intense rollercoasters. These are far more accessible than other options in this list.
Outdoor Zip lining - Compared to indoor, this is the more authentic option. Especially if you’re surrounded by woods, or high up in the trees.
Skydiving - One of the closest experiences to flying you can get. However, it can be extremely terrifying for many. I recommend doing a lot of research beforehand and finding a safe company you can trust.
Bungee Jumping - Another scary one. These aren’t as popular as these used to be, but there are some depending on the area.
Hang gliding and Paragliding - These are, in my opinion, the best ways to simulate flying. Especially hang gliding. These require a lot of training, and are not beginner friendly. If you can, and you’re comfortable with it, this is the one you should attempt to do sometime in your life if you’re Wingkin
Miscellaneous/I didn’t know where to put these ~
Making Wings/Wing Accessories - Self Explanatory again again AGAIN. This can vary wildly in cost, depending on the functionality planned and materials used
Playing as a Winged Character in DND and other Roleplaying games - I’d recommend becoming an Aasimar, since you gain temporary wings as a trait once you reach level 2 (I think? It might be Lvl 3??? I’ll correct this once I find my rulebook)
Having birds as a pet - I don’t keep birds as pets, mostly because I’m not qualified to keep them and don’t have the space to take care of them. But if you do the right research and have the space, it’s a great way to care for birds.
Chickenkeeping - Separated this from pets because Chickens are often kept as livestock, and outdoors. Same as above, if you have the space and research, it’s another way to connect to birds.
Feel free to comment your own ideas below, and I will update the list!
