Max's poor neglected wings. GP's been eyeing them from afar since Red Bull signed Max but once he's Max's engineer seeing the neglected wings is awful.
Max's knowledge of preening extends as far as pulling out painful feathers (growing crooked because his wings are overcrowded)
it being the first indication that jos didn't take of max the way a father should 😞 doesn't understand why jos wouldn't at least teach him how to properly preen to protect his feathers. maybe one day he even sees jos pulling out a healthy feather when max has a bad race, as a punishment. he's so angry about it that he rants the whole way home to christian and jonathan and hannah. feels so upset. their poor driver who is unsupported and unsafe. when he tells gp he's moving to monaco he's very relieved, because it's more time away from jos.
fastforward to max going to stay with gp and ellie and having his wings properly preened. max showing up to zandvoort after summer break with glossy, well-laid feathers and a big big smile. gp walking into the paddock with him [the fia def have some sus rules about winged team members not ebing allowed to fly in the paddock etc etc etc].
