“H-hi...I’m Zakuru Yakusuka.”

2: What does your full name mean?

“Oh well.. no one has really told me. Just said that my name was strange.”

3: What are your other names/nicknames?

“Just one... I don’t really like it. I get called kitten sometimes.”

4: What’s your gender?

“A..girl?”

5: What’s your sexuality?

“E-excuse me??”

6: Where are you from?

"I’m from Mirrorkin, it’s a small part of a big island.”

7: How old are you?

"Sixteen.”

8: What is your magic form/what species are you?

"I’m called a Kaykira Changeling. That’s just real fancy otherworldy words for, a cat shapeshifter.”

9: What does your human form look like?

“Um.. well I have brown hair. It goes about to my arms. And my eyes are blue, well sort of. One is blue and the other is dark blue? It’s weird, I’m sure people say stuff about their eyes if their hazel or something- ah sorry! ...Rambling.. um I have black cat ears and a tail. Whiskers too....”

10: What’s your aesthetic?

“...I think I know what that means? I.. I like being cozy. Like if I had an evening all to myself wrapped up in a blanket, that sounds niiiice~”

11: Who’s your best friend?

“You mean best friends! I have Shuhei and Yoko! They are the best and so fun! I don’t know where I’d be without them!”

12: Would you ever get a piercing/ tattoo?

“I’d never...”

13: When are you happiest?

“When I’m with my friends and family.” <3

14: What’s your biggest secret?

“..I think I like Kabuto.”

15: What was your first impression of Nobou?

“He scared me so bad! But after some time I finally was able to see him as my brother again. He’s really kind, but tough and smart. I think I only get to see that side of him.”

Romance Tag Game

Heyo guys! I’m alive kinda... thanks to @ragethewriter for tagging me!! I’m so slow!

1.) How big a part does romance play in your novel?

It’s a subplot, but it acts more like a motivation. Zakuru and Kabuto’s crushing doesn’t take off right away, but the connection Zakuru has with Kabuto is used as a motivator when things start getting dark.

2.) What is the nature of the romance in the story? Are there any tropes it follows? (Infatuation at first sight, enemies to lovers, best friends to lovers, etc?)

Almost like childhood friends? But Zakuru doesn’t remember Kabuto! But make no mistake, Kabuto is completely goo goo when he sees Zakuru. Tries so hard to keep his cool and to take things at a steady pace. And Zakuru is just confused about... everything, so she’s definetely not going to pick up Kabuto’s hints right off the bat when she has so many other things to juggle.

3.) Why did you decide to pair specifically these two characters? What makes their relationship compelling?

This is gonna be stupid but, I didn’t want the 1st male character to get with the protag. It seemed too obvious to me.

4.) At which point in your story do your characters realize that they’re in love?

Ignoring Kabuto since he’s just stubborn,

Zakuru starts to realize after of course she gets called out for bending the rules, just to be with Kabuto. And also when Kabuto gets hurt and goes missing, she kind of enters a funk.

Zakuru doesn’t get emotions right so it’s usually Yoko who pulls the answers out of her.

The Great King and Queen of Mirrorkin

In the midst of tensions between the Kaykiras and the Wolfkins, the Jackal thief, Jai froze when he found out that the Princess Zamira fell into his grasp.

There was a misunderstanding, the wolfkins were not at fault, but they were prisoners. Together they overthrew their chieftain, one who has fallen into demonism.

With that, their union became a symbol of peace, and Zamira soon took her fathers throne. Through them they had two children, Nobou and Zakuru. 

All was well, until the Bull Demon came for Zamira’s life. Together, they sacrificed their lives to protect their people and their children.

Since I did one for the prologue~ I’m gonna use one of my recent chapters that I’ve been doing for nano

The school grounds were decorated in color ribbons and rings of balloons lined the gates. They left rows of rainbow colors along the music room. Its soundproof walls dulling the clamoring of children and activity from outside to just a quiet white noise that Zakuru listens to. Sitting on the floor with her knees bunched up to her chest she organizes the game cartridges spilling out of her bag. Wondering which one Shuhei would like the most, which one he’ll want to get his hands on first.

Ok! Cool, I think this time I got tagged by @ragethewriter! And she requested I do Nobou this time around.

1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc)?

I made him such a long time ago. I think I made him to stand out at most. A bit of drifting away from the anime-esque cast I had so far. Hence, being a fucking anteater.

2. Did you create them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

Not at all.

3. How did you choose their name?

I’m 75% sure that his previous name was Alex, but after reading through an anime drawing book they had helpfully listed some japanese names for me to pick. So that’s how he got his name.

4. In developing their backstory, what elements of their world they live in played the most influential parts?

With Nobou’s backstory I had a lot to play with. There are elements of being a child of a tragedy, growing up without parents, feelings inferiority, heritage, obligation, asexuality. But mostly how trauma and tragedy warps someone at a young age.

5. Is there any significance behind their hair colour?

Nope

6. Is there any significance behind their eye colour?

Nada~

7. Is there any significance behind their height?

Zip

8. What, if anything, do you relate to within their character/story?

Perhaps his love and admiration for his mom and Zakuru.

9. Are they based off of you, in some way?

Nobou has a professional bottler of his emotions! Just like me! 

10. Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

Oddly enough, even though I was not aware of sexuality and all of its quirks, Nobou always came off as a reserved man when it came to love and affection. Not particularity one to give nor to accept it with a smile, at least when he was an adult. (he loved getting hugs from his mom)

Later I learned about the grey spectrum and it all made sense to me.

11. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art, writing, drawing, edits, etc)?

This is in general but facial structures. But specifically for Nobou was getting his body type right and his hair, and depicting the fact that he’s older... God it’s such a challenge sometimes.

12. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

My canon is pretty big sooooo, from birth to death really.

13. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

1). He always has a ulterior motive

2). He can loosen up, to the right person.

14. What is something about your OC that can make you laugh?

HE’S A FUCKING ANTEATER!

15. What is something about your OC that can make you cry?

Just all the mental pitfalls he fell through in precanon and how he ends up later in the story.

16. Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?

I’m pretty sure at some point I regretted giving him long pretty boy hair lol.

17. What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?

That he’s a grey-ace and that he has security issues. 

18. What is your favourite fact about your OC? I think he has the strongest arc.

1. How are you doing today?

“Great! What’s up?”

2. You ready to answer some questions?

"Sure!”

3. How do you feel about your name? Your surname?

"I like it! Though it gets some people confused how it’s written. Both with my first name and surname, there’s a whole story about it. But I don’t wanna bore people.”

4. Is there anything you’d like to thank your author for?  

”Hmmm...for the Yakusuka’s. They’re like a second family to me!”

5. You can only eat three foods for the rest of your life, what are they?

“Steak! ...I don’t need anything else, but if I have to. I like rabbit too, aaaand maybe Ohaw.”

6. Have you ever done or said anything that surprised your author?

“How does that even work? Don’t you know everything?”

“Hmm, perhaps... I think that one time I turned into a disney prince?”

Oh yeah...

“I do that thing where I pick flower petals and make wishes! Hehe.”

7. You have limitless funds, what kind of party are you going to have?

“I guess no one has warned you about me~. We would go to so many places! It may take like, two days before we’re finished. Arcades, clubs, and karaoke! AND STEAK! All of the food for two whole days! M-Maybe even a brunch... oh man I’m getting hungry”

8. Tell us a quick story about something that’s happened to you that not even your author knows about… yet.

*Looks over his shoulder*

“I don’t think she knows of the countless time I tried to run away from home. It wasn’t a good time. I always got caught by dad. It wasn’t until our Shaman stopped me one time. It was so long ago though...”

9. Do you have a favorite Hero?

"I’m not so sure if hero is the right word for me, but I always did look up to Queen Zamira. I never got why Nobou was always so clingy to her when I was a kid, but I knew she was a strong and admirable person.”

10. What do you plan to do after this?

“See if Zakuru wants to hang out~”

The fur on her back starts to stand up as she sees her father come into the kitchen and lock his eyes onto her.

“Whoa! How did you get in here?” He exclaimed. Her father held his hands up in a calming gesture, “Hey little guy, come here. Let’s get you back outside.”

Zakuru slowly stepped backwards away from her father. Before long her legs frozen and her father slowly creeped toward her.

Then there was another sign. A dark shift, and a menacing pulse in the air. Stomachs churned once they noticed the dark shroud lifting off of Katoshi’s soaked, limp body. Everyone instantly ceased what they were doing. Being overtaken by the nauseous feeling of vile corruption as the shroud takes the form of a man. 

Dark tan skin, only standing out by the two golden bands wrapped around his forearm. Two long horns protrude from his head, the base of which was hidden in the purple mane of hair. He stands over Katoshi, staring down at his body before those pitch black eyes roll up, piercing into Zakuru. He snickers with a crooked smile. “Nice work, kitten. I suppose I’m next?”
