( @wintcrwinds​ ) Elaine had meant to visit him sooner, definitely sooner than a few weeks after the avalanche. But it seems like it’s more common now for things to happen in the valley frequently, unexpectedly; she had gotten swept up in all of it, and time had passed before she knew it. So yes, there’s a bit of guilt that gnaws at her as she knocks on Matty’s door, a container full of food in one hand and worry she had been holding for weeks now surfacing and creasing her brow into a furrowed line.

On May 30th, a package arrives at Matty’s door containing a handmade dice tower, and a set of dice. Atop the newspaper wrapping is a sloppily written card.
