I hate that it’s getting warm again. Disgusting. Unacceptable. I should move to Alaska, where the air is crisp, and the sun knows its place. I thrive in the cold—bundled up in thick layers, swallowed by oversized sweaters, buried beneath scarves and hats. In winter, I am but a vague, shapeless entity. In summer, I am exposed. Horrifying.

Winter Wonderland

the other day i was trying to explain to my mother why i love fall and winter so much compared to spring and summer. i guess people don’t understand the feeling of cuddling under your thick blankets,  feeling warm in a bed that you don’t want to get out of, watching the snow out your window (or rain i live in socal), having candles all around your room while you read. these things can only be done in winter/fall. summer and spring are filled with deoderant, that horrible feeling when you get up after sitting in the sun for too long, and waking up sweating with your clothes wet.
