Alright, so. Since I dont have access to many LoZ related-things, I decided to make my own LoZ, called Golden Paws. This is something I made so I can talk abt LoZ while knowing some lore.
Two cats go on a adventure together-but here's the catch: neither of them know this, but neither one is truly a cat. One is a Griffin, the other a dragon.
The one on the left is Sunbeam, aka Beam, and the one on the right is Sunria

So, to understand Winter's lore, you need to understand Winter himself, and why I created him in the first place.
Many years ago, around 2022-2023, there was this app called Amino. For those of you who don't know what that is...well, thanks for calling me old.
Amino is basically Tumblr if Tumblr was in the 2016-ish era. I don't doubt Tumblr was around then, but the overall setup just screamed "2016 fandom app." Tumblr is basically Amino if they actually bothered to update.
As some of you may know, I'm a warrior cats fan. So I obviously joined the warrior cats community in Amino. (Kind of like how you can join communities here, except you could make a different account for each one)
My mascot/main sona that I roleplayed/put myself as was Snowcloud. (Even the name brings back nostalgia. Not the good kind.)
Then I met some people, some fights went down, and eventually I kinda just...left Amino. It wasn't some grand, "I'm quitting Amino" or "time to delete Amino." I kind of just closed the app and never opened it again. I checked back on it a year later just to see how things were, and all my online "friends" seemed to have quit too. (They made it VERY clear we weren't friends) and it was way too much to see the old texts, the nostalgia overwhelmed me so I closed the app again. I was planning to stay this time, maybe write a new name for myself. But I ended up closing it and never opening it again.
Even if I did want to go back, which nowadays I don't, apparently I can't anymore.
Amino got permanently shut down in December 2025 due to public safety issues, bots, bugs, glitches, etc.
Hearing that news was a bittersweet feeling. On one hand...all those memories, erased as if they were never there. On the other, its for the best. Amino was a dangerous place, and I had no business being on there the age that I was. I'm just glad I was taught well, otherwise I don't wanna imagine what could've happened.
And before your like "Tumblr has bots and adults, what makes this different?" Oh no, believe me. The staff and communities try their best to take it down, but Amino had to shut down because of the amount of bots there were.
Now, you may be wondering, "what in the world does this have to do with Winter? Your mascot or whatever? We asked for a Winter lore drop, not a you lore drop."
Well, you see, I can't seem to let go of Amino for some weird reason. So after some crafting, the twist to Winter?
He's Snowcloud's son. After Snowcloud escaped EndClan, he fell in love and had 4 kittens, Winter being one of them. The Mother got kidnapped and a Storm washed the kittens away, but a human rescued them and sent them to another place, far away. From there, Winter and his siblings tried to survive and thrive, now living regular lives.
See how all this connects now? Now you understand not only a little of Winter's backstory, but also his origin and why I created him. He represents a more developed version of Snowcloud, someone fresh and anew, while still keeping the overall theme and vibe. It also shows that if I ever do let go of Winter and change mascots/theme, I've also let go of the past, put it behind me. But not yet, the time hasn't come.
