How do you download other streams for archiving?
I DONT KNOW HOW I JUST DID NOT SEE THIS FOR A MONTH SORRY MEMIE
right now i pretty much solely use streamrecorder, which is a site that automatically records streams from any channels you're monitoring on sr. from there, you can download those recordings. sr is unfort borderline non-functional without a premium subscription, especially due to some recent changes they've made to it, so i'd only recommend it if you're using it often enough to justify dishing out like $10 or however much a month for it.
i haven't used twitchlink, but i've heard good things about it from other archivists! it is an application you have to download onto your pc instead of just a website, but from what i know it's reliable and iirc easy to set up and use.
twitchrecover's most recent version is still in beta and is kind of unstable (it just crashes a lot), but has a bunch of features from downloading vods and clips to unmuting them, getting perma clip links, and recovering vods that have expired from a streamer's page. all of this data is pulled from what's available on twitch's servers (or something like that), so it's not going to be able to do some of the fancier stuff 100% of the time (generally less reliable the older the vod you're working with is), but it's lovely to have in your toolbox and has a bunch of cool features coming in the future that i think will also prove to be quite useful! this guy is also a download onto your pc type of deal, and is a little less intuitive to use but pretty easy once u get the hang of it.
i'm sure theres websites out there that can also download from a twitch link youtube-to-mp3 style, but i don't use them so i'm not aware of any. if i learn of anything, i'll rb this post with an update!
