I miss tempest duooo….
i do too nonny i miss them alot :(
Sickly unplanned yap bc I’m soooo nauseous and my head hurttsss! Some bliss s2 and s3 spoilers. Some things might be worded badly this is straight of the dome no outline ^^
Grief on bliss is soooo wacky woo. Alot of the time characters grieve concepts of people, images they’ve made up to idolize or to condemn. I think a large part of it is involved in the overall dehumanization Bliss partakes in as a whole. Which is hard to blame anyone for that, it’s very… human? To dehumanize someone when in a situation of life or death, where instincts are above all else. Even if some people’s survival instincts SUCK (looking at you Rylanets)
People’s dehumanization against Mugm is very obvious, it’s like the most well known thing about Mugm. The fact he’s percieved, or should be percieved as just a weapon to move. But a lot of that thinking stems from that falsified image pressed onto Mugm. Mugm himself doesn’t really behave like a weapon though, it’s a known fact he’s “too humane” for what he’s meant to be. And Mugm changing his ideals and actions to become more cold— like a weapon, to me is in some way grief. Grieving what he should be in the world so he attempts to kill the person he actually is.
Now I personally don’t consume much of Stormz character but you also have grief like his displayed, where for awhile he wanted and kinda NEEDED. To be on a team secure, but was so unsure with himself and everyone around him there really wasn’t anywhere for him to go. And it seemed there wasn’t anywhere he could go that would give him the answers to the unknown he wanted soooo badly. Stormz grief reminds me a lot of grieving what you yearn, he wants things so much he’s already mourning the process, solution, and conclusion before it even started.
Quakitus. I grow angry at her actions everyday.. There isn’t any clear sign of some form of grief with Q at first. Only because she attempts to smush the feeling of mourning down until it’s grains and kick it into the trash like it’s nothing. But in a sense Q also grieves what was, she constantly mentions Gilded and Wyll, how much that time mattered. She both tries to smother any past memories she’s had to become detached, but also holds Gilded with such a tight grip it’s borderline obsession with what the concept of Gilded was. Not what it came out to be.
Nemvevo is honestly the saddest idea of grief to me. Because he grieves a lot of people who are still alive, but just no longer with him. Looking back to Horizon with both a strategic eye, but also some sense of fondness. When it comes to Dol9 she isn’t necessarily dead, but she’s also no longer there. With Shaun, shes still alive. Without a doubt still breathing and moving, but shes no longer there. Nem unknowingly signs himself up for small moments of mourning people still alive, just very different.
Idk I can think of other forms of grief for like Silva, Wyll, Lezy, Nezo, Puqi, and like Sans on the top of my head. But to lazy to write them out blehhh.. if anyone wants me to actually write them or any other character I might.
on the grief that existed long before the arena
there's the grief of hatchet itself and then there's the grief of everything that led them into that scenario in the first place, of shattered visions of a vibrant future and the quiet death of the people they thought they'd become. they were young, once, and passionate, and a little naive but mostly foolish and hopeful. the butterfly effect is a bitch sometimes. one day i'll write the full backstory out but in the meantime here's this and a vc vod of me yapping for an hour and a half about it

I hate how this fight between Mugm and Stormz is friendly
They’re bantering, this doesn’t feel like the last silent fight that Stormz had, it’s friendly. And that’s probably the most painful part. Every word is ridden with grief, grieving what they had. This fight is a funeral procession. They’re burning the funeral pyre that TE was built to be.
And Stormz doesn’t even care about the Mugm stash.
He left this one
To Storm or Fire, the World Must Fall.
I really really wanted to draw Stormz :3
