"Oh my god, what smells so good?" is the first thing Jim asks when he walks in the door. "I'm baking gingerbread men. Joanna's coming by later and we're going to decorate them, look at all the fancy decoration things I bought!" Bones explains. "Oh, I didn't realize Jo was coming. I'll just leave you to it, then," Jim turns to walk away. "Where the hell are you going? Jo's dying to meet you, Jim. I want you there," Bones says and before Jim can turn around Bones is wrapping his arms around him.

Jim has always been competitive, it came with being the son of a man who saved hundreds of people when he was captain for 15 minutes. He always wanted to prove he could be good at anything if he put his mind to it. Bones used this knowledge to make Jim do some ridiculous things sometimes. He would say, "I bet I can make better coffee than you," or "I bet I can clean my half of the apartment faster than you." It was his own personal way of getting Jim to do stuff for him.
