Did people not see the emoji? Like Alex basically just said that he wants her to be there because he is trying to show her that he is really sorry for participating in the prank. Yesterday, he said he'd fix it now he does but it's important to him that she is there. And maybe this surprise performance that he wrote about in the group chat is actually something that has a hidden meaning that only Mia will understand. And he knows that she doesn't want to see how much he's trying but he does.

I can understand where the wording or tone might be off putting had we not known their previous banter and chats were like this but at this point it’s like why are people shocked??? Those two enjoy the back and forth and both have said some questionable things when texting each other like?? They’re teenagers?? They’re not supposed to be perfect woke uwu sjw’s???
