Adding an exotic touch to this dry garden are the flowers of Sternbergia lutea (winter daffodil, fall daffodil, lily of the field, yellow amaryllis, yellow starflower). This is a clump-forming bulbous perennial which needs a sunny, sheltered location ideally with a free draining soil.

Seeming like a splash of spring-yellow in autumn the flowers of the bulbous perennial Sternbergia lutea (winter daffodil, fall daffodil, lily of the field, yellow amaryllis, yellow starflower). This plant requires a sunny location with moderately fertile, sharply drained soil and avoiding excessive winter wet.
