DTA entry for @nimble-n-peachy-mod‘s Wintergreen Mint Contest. Here she is pictured with her Bear, Mr. Bear, and her snuggling her patient, Cantabile.
Wintergreen Mint, or more lovingly known as Minty or Winny by her loved ones, is an extremely patient and tender mare. She is the caregiver to Cantabile, a high functioning autistic young mare who excels in the music world. Winny grew up with her sister, Spearmint, who was autistic as well. Her parents, Peppermint Bark and Sugar Cookie, were worried about how Winny would interact with her younger sibling due to her disability. Much to their surprise, she was extremely patient and understanding. She loves her sister very dearly and pursued a career in working with the disabled.
Her cutiemark, which is represented by a bear, shows that not is she only able to give great ‘bear’ hugs, but also shows patience and strength. She has a replica of her sister’s bear in her office, who is lovingly named “Mr. Bear”, which matches her sister’s bear who’s name is “Mrs. Bear.” She was hired to be Cantabile’s caregiver and is an in-home caregiver at that. Winny understands when Cantabile is about to have her meltdowns/has her meltdowns. When she does, Winny lowers the lights, has white noise going on in the background, and hugs Cantabile to let her know it’s okay.
Winny loves being around Cantabile and is very impressed with the mare’s musical talents. She listens to the music she produces and even helps critique her. She is even one of the very few mares that Cantabile will actually talk to, seeing as she is on the very edge of the mute part of the spectrum.
Winny’s favourite flavours are dark chocolate, various citrus-y flavours like orange, lemon, and lime, and vanilla. She is often seen with a bag full of snacks which contain sweets or baked breads. However, she has a tendency to overwork herself, but insists that she’s alright. She absolutely loves what she does and it makes it all the more worthwhile when she can see Cantabile in concert and see her perform as well as she does.
