Winterlude in Ottawa is pure winter magic, and in this video I’m taking you along with me on a full walking tour of Winterlude 2026 at Confederation Park ❄️

I wander through the heart of the celebration, checking out the jaw-dropping ice sculptures and the live ice carving competition, where you can watch artists transform giant blocks of ice into frozen works of art.

One of my favourite stops is the Lantern Grove, especially as the light starts to fade—it’s such a beautiful spot for photos and a cozy winter stroll.

Along the way, I also catch live performances, peek in on snow yoga and winter fitness sessions, and explore all the food and drink vendors serving up warm treats and classic Winterlude flavours.

There are tons of interactive games, fun photo ops, and festive details throughout Confederation Park, making it a great stop for couples, families, or solo winter explorers like me.

I just finished reading Winterlude by the lovely @otrtbs and might I just say it healed something in me which Art heist baby! broke, I also kinda get why its the fav child (Like I didn't even see the mcd tag in ahb! but I knew Regulus was gonna die coz it ties the whole story together, personally I don't feel like the point would've driven home if he stayed alive and I love how Nat wrote the story so that Reg is actually satisfied by the time he dies, coz he got his brother back, fell in love, was loved back and was immortal for a while, not the way he ever imagined but still)

This is not to say that I didn't sob uncontrollably during the Copenhagen chapter and pretty much every one after that, I even have a pink sticky note in my room to remind me of the misery I suffered.

Anyways back to winterlude it was soo cute, being a Regulus kin I completely understood how he felt, being overshadowed by Sirius, always feeling like he is not in on a joke the whole world knows about, wanting and hoping for his mother to reach out when he knows its never gonna happen but whatever he does he can't extinguish that little flame of hope.

I absolutely loved Regulus' internal monologue sm tho how its always sassy and snarky and he just can't hold it in around James coz he just makes him feel that comfortable. I missed all the other characters a lot since we only see Sirius as a main character along with James and Regulus ofc while some of the other made an appearance. I did miss Barty and Evan tho but the amazing writing made up for it.

Loved the fact that the author basically geeked about art restoration the whole time as a person who is obsessed with art history and art crime for the longest time, restoration is not something I had explored much but this makes me want to.

Also Ruby and Ziggy??? Honestly I get Regulus, I would too run out wearing the most ridiculous outfit to get a glimpse of James Potter riding a motorcycle.

And I really appreciated the innuendos they made the whole time in the studio, all in all it was a very nice read and is being added to my comfort reads right there with just lovers.
