Remember Me
Remember Me: Emma trying to make Jack remember her.
“Jack?”
She blinked once.
Was it all happening inside her head? Maybe, but it all seemed… He seemed so real.
She blinked twice, staring at him. His brother looked back, a shocked expression on his terribly familiar face. Emma thought she would never see him again, that she would have to cling to the memory of Jack’s last smile. When she had watched him die.
For her.
Emma bit her lip, not wanting to cry again. All those weeks she had spent in her room, refusing to do anything but think of what she had caused. And now, there he was.
“Jack, I’m so glad…” Emma whispered, not even wanting to know if it was all her imagination or not. She just stepped forward to hug him, but then…
…He stepped away.
Emma froze, her eyes opened wide with fear and surprise. What? Was something wrong?
“Who…Who are you, little miss?” Jack asked her, still not sure of why she had just tried to hug him so suddenly. And that’s when Emma understood; he didn’t remember her. “But- But, Jack! You’re my brother! You saved me!” Emma said, her mouth slightly opened in disbelief. She was hurt. How could he just not remember her, when they had had so many moments together since she was a baby?
It didn’t make sense. At all.
“Look, it’s me!” She stuttered, feeling the boy’s intense glare more than ever. “I’m Emma! Your sister! You- You taught me how to skate, how to make snowmen, how to climb trees- Please, Jack!” The last two words were nothing but a plea, her eyes starting to tear up when she saw her brother looking even more confused.
“Its…Its me.”
