Winter Tour 2018 is underway!!!
It’s been a long and frigid winter, but we’re back on the road! I’ve personally been looking forward to this run because I’ve been dying to try some new ideas on the kit live.
Today’s the last day of the run, but it’s been good so far. We played Time in Philly on Thursday and had a great time. A whole bunch of our friends came by and sat in (shout out to Liz Starry, John Gilbride, Coop and Mykk Hoffman). We finished up around 1:30 and we all drove home so we could get some sleep and meet up in the morning.
The next day, after a couple false starts (we kept forgetting stuff) Mark and I met left the studio and headed down to Delaware to meet up with Luke.
6 hours later we were in Charlottesville loading into a Red Roof. We went and got dinner at a restaurant called BJ’s (4/10, good beer selection, food and waitress service were pretty iffy ha).
Then we headed to the Whiskey Jar, which is one of Hambone Relay’s touring staples (we have been playing here since Oct ‘16). Took a little while to unload, but we had a great time, the people were dancing and the beer was flowing! We also met a bunch of musicians and hope to see them again down south or in Philly. (Shout out to Coda of Chamomille and Whiskey).
Afterwards we headed back to the Red Roof and watched our obligatory end of the night Family Guy episode.
We had breakfast at an okay Diner and now we’re chilling at a Barnes and Noble, getting ready to hit the road to Homegrown Café in Newark, Delaware. I gotta drive so I gotta go get the car warmed up.
