WINTER TOUR 2018 RECAP Our Winter Tour 2018 came to a close this past weekend in Virginia and man was it quite a ride. We kicked things off on January 20 with our drummer Rob's Birthday Bash at Fergie's Pub in Philly. Asbury-based band Pepperwine opened the night and we played to a pakced house until they kicked us out! Then we hit the road for a sixteen date tour hitting everywhere from Charlottesville to Portland, Maine and in between.
After having our initial "Free At Noon" performance cancelled due to weather, we hit the stage at World Cafe Live for a performance on WXPN on February 16. It was probably the highlight of the tour and led to a pretty amazing opportunity. We shared the stage with British R&B singer James Hunter for "Free at Noon" and after our performances, he asked us to support his band at City Winery in Manhattan and MusikFest Cafe in Bethlehem. I think I speak for everyone when I say it was an incredible experience working with The James Hunter Six. Hopefully, we'll be able to share with stage with them again very soon!
After WXPN and The James Hunter shows, we hit the road for stops in Virginia: Charlottesville and Staunton, Massachusetts: Newburyport and Southbridge, Pennsylvania: Scranton and Hazleton, Brooklyn and even Portland, Maine! We shared the stage with our buds from Boston, LUX and our longtime friend, singer-songwriter John Gilbride. Even as busy as we were, we managed to start writing and recording new material which we hope to release sometime in the Summer or Fall of 2018.
Now that the Winter Tour is finished, Hambone Relay will be taking two weeks off while we practice, write, record and prepare for our Spring Tour which is going to be even bigger and better. We'll be hitting some venues this spring in Virginia, Vermont, Delaware, Pennsylania, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts and New Hampshire......and stay tuned for some exciting festival announcements!!!
Hope to see you all soon! Thanks again for your incredible support. Get out and see LIVE music as much as possible. ~Mark B

Winter Tour 2018 is underway!!!
It’s been a long and frigid winter, but we’re back on the road! I’ve personally been looking forward to this run because I’ve been dying to try some new ideas on the kit live.
Today’s the last day of the run, but it’s been good so far. We played Time in Philly on Thursday and had a great time. A whole bunch of our friends came by and sat in (shout out to Liz Starry, John Gilbride, Coop and Mykk Hoffman). We finished up around 1:30 and we all drove home so we could get some sleep and meet up in the morning.
The next day, after a couple false starts (we kept forgetting stuff) Mark and I met left the studio and headed down to Delaware to meet up with Luke.
6 hours later we were in Charlottesville loading into a Red Roof. We went and got dinner at a restaurant called BJ’s (4/10, good beer selection, food and waitress service were pretty iffy ha).
Then we headed to the Whiskey Jar, which is one of Hambone Relay’s touring staples (we have been playing here since Oct ‘16). Took a little while to unload, but we had a great time, the people were dancing and the beer was flowing! We also met a bunch of musicians and hope to see them again down south or in Philly. (Shout out to Coda of Chamomille and Whiskey).
Afterwards we headed back to the Red Roof and watched our obligatory end of the night Family Guy episode.
We had breakfast at an okay Diner and now we’re chilling at a Barnes and Noble, getting ready to hit the road to Homegrown Café in Newark, Delaware. I gotta drive so I gotta go get the car warmed up.
Keep on rockin! -Rob
