i love that post about not needing smut to be a good fic, unfortunately from what ive seen of my own posts its not true, if it doesnt have smut my posts wont reach ten notes, but with smut it goes nuts and gets 100 nots in less than a day, so i stopped writing altogether
Hi Anon! I've noticed the same trend as well, sadly. I mean smut fics can definitely be more popular, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're always better. Like the post said, just because it's not smut, doesn't mean it's not worth it. I don't know the whole context of where you're coming from, but I do hope that you find the inspiration to just continue writing. While of course it feels great to know that a lot of people like your work, I personally find joy in just being able to share my stories. It amazes me how people (whether it's just 10 of them or 100) read a piece of writing and go "oh hey, I feel the same way." So I urge you to just keep writing! Do it for you.
