"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Sam chuckled as they walked into the venue. Tonight he had agreed to go with his best friend to see Steve's favorite band, Winter Soldier. Steve had not only gotten tickets but he had worked tirelessly at calling the local radio station to score some sweet backstage passes. If there was one thing that Steve Rogers was, it was persistent.
"You are kidding right? Please tell me you're joking?" Steve rolled his eyes as he nudged Sam while they walked. "I've been ready for this since I heard Winter Soldier was coming to town six months ago. Bucky Barnes is the legend in guitarists!" He exclaimed.
Now it was Sam's turn to roll his eyes. "Yeah and I'm sure his, what did you call them, his dazzling cerulean eyes, has nothing to do with this?" He smirked as he teased his friend.
"Shut up!" Steve found himself blushed as they approached the turnstile to enter the main part of the venue. It was well known that Steve not only loved the Winter Soldier music but he had somewhat of a crush on their lead singer and guitarist, James "Bucky" Barnes. To Steve he was rock-n-roll. The ultimate musician. Whenever Steve worked at his job at the tattoo shop, he was always blasting the Winter Soldier music.
Approaching the turnstile both men showed the security guard their tickets and their backstage passes. The guard grinned as he looked them over. "Hey what do we have here? Pretty sweet. Cool guys, listen what you do is go with this guard here and he'll take you to the Winter Soldier's dressing room. That way you can meet the band before the show. " He handed the tickets back to the guys and the backstage passages to the approaching guard. "Hey Lance, take these boys back to the Winter Soldier's dressing room. They have full access."
Lance approached and grinned. "Come on guys." He led them down a hallway and turned back towards Steve and Sam. "Is this your first show?"
"Nah man, this is my second and Steve's what...tenth?" Sam teased.
"Ha ha very funny. No it's not my tenth. My seventh. Gee get it right." Steve grumbled.
"Oh my bad man, sorry." Sam reached over and ruffled Steve's hair.
"Watch the hair dude!" Steve freaked out and began to run his fingers through his hair, trying to fix it.
Lance laughed as he approached the door. "Wait here." He knocked on the double doors. Then he walked in and there was muffled speech. It was several seconds before he came back out. "Ok guys Bucky and the band are inside. Pictures are allowed, There is about an hour before they have to get ready for the show. Have fun." He opened the door for them.
Steve found himself trying not to tremble. In all the shows he had been to he never got a chance to meet the band, or his favorite singer. This was it. Opening the door, he and Sam walked in. There sitting on the couch was Bucky Barnes. He looked a million times better looking in person than he did on tv. Steve swallowed hard as he watched Bucky turn his head his way and smile at him. Steve felt as if he was going to faint. Struggling to find his voice, he finally spoke. "Hi, I'm Steve."
