(I was so excited to get this tag because I spent most of yesterday evening desperate to get back to my WIP because of where I left it, and being unable to do so. So it's nice to get to share!).
"[Still]," Simon interrupts. "It doesn't make it hurt any less."
If one could drown in a gaze, Simon thinks he might have drowned in Wille's. His eyes are dark and fathomless and watching Simon with such an intensity that Simon feels utterly consumed by it.
"It doesn't," Wille whispers.
Their faces are so close together that Simon sees the exact moment that Wille's eyes drop down to his lips then immediately back up again. It's a terrible idea, potentially the worst idea in the world. But the world is almost destroyed, and Simon can't find it in him to care.
So when Wille leans forward slightly, stopping just as their noses brush together, Simon only hesitates for a moment before closing the gap between them.
I'm going to tag (with no pressure!): @pagegirlintraining, @earlgrey-lateatnight (and I know you're doing gift exchange, so only if you have something different you can post: @malinowaj and @almostlake)
i saw "john marino" and blacked out so that one lol
John Marino is a What??? Has gone through many changes, at one point he was a werewolf (hence the title but hey)
Anyways this is my one sided enemies to lovers John Marino/Ryan Graves fic!! Ngl working on this one is a bit slow only due to gravy no longer being a devil but hey! Anything in fic is possible if I say it is!!
Here’s a snippet!
Unfortunately the Devils lost tonight. Not only did they lose, they lost badly. It ended up being 5-1 for the Pens. To make matters even worse, the one lone goal that the Devils had should've been his. But no, his shot went wide and it was rebounded and scored by the one person who he wished would go up in flames, metaphorically of course, maybe... The one goal was scored by John's enemy, his D Partner, Ryan Graves.
John looked up at the room through his fingers. Most of the guys had gone back to ignoring him and his dramatics. Guys were stripping down and talking about anything that wasn't the game.
John was jolted out of his stewing by a hand landing roughly on top of his head.
“Don't look so down, bud.” John turned to glare at the person. His gaze was met with the stupidly wide grin of Ryan Graves. The older man grinning as if he didn't take away John's chances of fixing his screwed up season with that stupid goal. John knocked the hand off him, turning his back to the other man.
Some behind the scenes from my speedrun romance WIP. I like to scribble down what I want to happen next in a scene if I run out of steam after an hour or so of writing - or if I’ve been thinking about my story a lot but haven’t had time to write because of work. Sometimes it’s about the emotional flow of the scene, sometimes it’s a reminder that I need to include foreshadowing, sometimes it’s a line I like that I don’t want to forget.
As you can see in the second paragraph, I also do this with edits. I have a bad habit of getting overly fussy with edits to the point where it stops me from writing more. Sometimes writing a roadmap like this can help me just keep going and fix whatever I’ve decided needs to have been foreshadowed earlier afterwards.

A Pale Imitation (Burnt in My Eyes)
I was thinking I’d be working on a bunch of WIPs this summer, but then this one came along and took over my entire brain. (It’s all Mem’s fault. She asked about Ben Parker AUs months ago and I couldn’t stop thinking about it.)
We’re Gonna Be Friends
This is the fic that should, by all logic and by subscriber count, be my priority right now. I’ve kinda hit a wall with it, but I am hoping to finish over the summer! Chapter 6, at least, is outlined.
Unpublished works in the folder include:
A Ned and Peter friendship fic
Penance
Inherent Value

I'm always curious to hear about your writing process and what you have percolating! I'd love to see a snippet of something you suspect maybe won't go anywhere? only if you feel inclined to share. 💜
That's a really interesting question! And yes. There are a couple of things.
This is one I started writing years ago. I wrote it as a canon divergence from the end of s1. And I didn't have any grand plot ideas or anything, I was just playing around with writing them arguing. And I wondered how they'd both react if the first time Simon said he loved Wille wasn't in a quiet, calm moment like in canon.
I didn't write the actual argument, just the aftermath. I like to think they weren't arguing about anything really serious. But maybe they were and this was a more tense moment. I don't know 🫠
---
“Of course I fucking love you!” Simon yelled. His chest was heaving up and down with the force of his exclamation. Wille saw the moment Simon realised what he’d said in the slight shake of his head, eyes wide.
Wilhelm was frozen in place. The space between them that had provided a well needed buffer as they’d argued now felt like a million miles. Wille wanted to run to him, pull him into his chest, kiss him into oblivion. But he knew he shouldn’t. He knew that Simon hadn’t meant to fling the words at him in anger.
Wilhelm swallowed. “You—?”
Simon groaned loudly and threw his head back. But the fight had almost completely gone out of him. “Wille, can we just—” He sighed loudly, bringing his head back and levelling Wilhelm with a look. “I’m really annoyed with you still.”
i'm wondering if there is a wip you really wanna talk about.
Hi, Sophia! 💜
Yes! There is! I've barely talked about it at all. At first, I thought it might end up being my gift exchange fic, but then I decided it didn't fit as well as one of my other ideas. So I wrote quite a lot of this one whilst trying to keep it a secret and now I've kind of... got in my head that it's a secret. But it's not!
It's almost done! It's post- (or, actually probably more accurately, during-) apocalyptic, and based on a video game. I think it's fairly niche and won't be for everyone, but it's been really fun to write!
It's set in a world where there's been a climate crisis, but not a hot one, a cold one! So like... Day After Tomorrow (although it isn't based on that). I've pulled world-building bits from the video game Frostpunk (best game I've played in recent years, if anyone's even remotely into video games, I recommend it), and a bit from Snowpiercer. There's a lot of hand-wavey backstory, but I'm hoping people are willing to roll with it.
I'm currently trying to write the final scenes and then after that it's back through to edit (including brushing up some scenes in the first few chapters where I wasn't 100% sure how much plot I wanted to put in early, so I need to fix that up).
Writing-time dependent, it should be done in the next few weeks!
First of, 81k of fics in your drafts is genuinely impressive wow. Are there maybe any post s3 or fics with Erik in it that you’d want to share a snippet of? :D
Impressive or concerning? 🫠
I have absolutely nothing post-s3. My post-canon fics tend to come to me in a blaze, I write them down, then I post them, then they're done. I don't have any big, exciting ideas of things I want to write about post-canon at the moment. Probably because the fic I just finished posting was a massive dive into a post-canon scenario.
I also don't have much Erik. I have one fic that is very Erik-centric BUT... he, uhm, isn't alive in it 🙃
He is alive in one of my WIPs, though! I started writing this literal years ago and lost some steam (see: another shiny idea came to me and this one got dropped). This is one that I assume I'll come back to because I have several thousand word written and most of it plotted. But until then, here is a scene with Erik in all his annoying-older-brother glory.
----
Yanking open the door to his bedroom, he stopped short. Erik was lounging on his bed, looking, for all intents and purposes, like he belonged there.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Wilhelm snapped.
“Good afternoon to you too, dear Wilhelm.” Erik unfolded himself and stood up from the bed.
“Fuck off,” Wille grumbled, untying his tie and flinging it onto the floor. That was another thing. Why the fuck did he have to get so dressed up for a pointless fucking cello lesson?
Erik tutted, and Wilhelm had had enough of people judging him for one day, for his lifetime really. “What do you want, Erik?” he sighed. “I’m really not in the mood.”
“I can see that,” Erik said, ambling over to him. “Aren’t you supposed to be with Evard for another” – he checked his watch – “twenty minutes.”
“He let me go early,” Wille lied.
Erik scoffed, it was a sound he only ever made out of earshot of their mother. “That’s not likely.”
“Yeah. Well. Maybe he likes me better than he liked you.” Another lie. No one ever liked Wilhelm more than they liked Erik.
“Not possible,” Erik joked. Erik knew it too. “Why do you insist on making your life more difficult?” Erik laughed and reached out to ruffle Wilhelm’s hair. Wille ducked out of the way and scowled at his brother. “Just take the classes and stop throwing a strop every time something doesn’t go your way.”
Grumbling, Wille stalked to the other side of the room to grab his hoodie. “I wasn’t stropping,” he said, “I just don’t understand why I have to keep taking the lessons. When am I ever going to use cello playing?”
“It builds character!” Erik said, dropping back down on Wilhelm’s bed.
“You sound like Jan-Olof,” Wille snorted. “And get off my bed. You’re not staying.”
“Do you need the room to yourself to get your frustration out?” Erik wiggled his eyebrows and Wille felt his cheeks heat up.
He hated how cavalier Erik was about things like this. It shouldn’t be a big deal, but to Wille it was, and he didn’t appreciate being made to feel weird in a whole different way.
“Gross, Erik.”
“It’s not gross. It’s very normal. And maybe you should do it more often if you’re this wound up.” Erik leant back, crossing his hands behind his head.
“I do it plenty. But it’s none of your business. Get out of my room, Erik.”
Erik paused for a moment, as if considering refusing, a smirk on his lips. Being Erik’s little brother was sometimes the greatest thing in the world. And sometimes – like today – the most infuriating. But Erik must have seen something in Wille’s expression because he just exhaled and heaved himself up as if it had been his decision all along.
“Alright then,” he said. “I’ll leave you to your privacy.” Wilhelm did not like the tone of voice Erik was using. “But I’ll see you at dinner, yeah?”
Wille made a non-committal noise, but they both knew he’d be at dinner. No point in poking the bear more than necessary. So Erik just saluted and left, giving Wille the space to fling himself face down onto his bed and groan into the mattress, where he remained until he was called to dinner an hour later.
