Hands (from my bobadin wip Intended Meaning) (ough thats a big paragraph hello)

"This is different," Boba responds, and Fennec scoffs — but it is. He'd seen Din fight, but the battle on Tython was more of a warzone than anything. This was different; in a situation like this, Din held the rules of engagement in his hands, and controlled when and where the fight started. How it started. And how it ended. The shift was noticeable in the way he carried himself through the palace, confident strides replaced with a controlled prowl that was more akin to a predator than a man covered in some fourty-odd pounds of pure beskar.

Helmet (from my dincobb wip Binary Melody)

Little green eyebrows furrow, and there's a tapping sound from his claws as the child pokes at the helmet, as if questioning its continued existence. He's using both tiny hands now, scratching along the surface of a hollowed metal cheek. "Bah." It's more insistent now. He wonders if the word means anything, or if it's just a particular instance of baby babble that the kid's just latched onto.

Skin (from my Fennec oneshot Bloodletting for Beginners)

She always thought his blue skin looked a little funny against the crystal blue skies of Savareen. Like he was trying to camouflage himself where the sky and the ocean met, held back only by golden stripes, pink hair, and the intricately detailed clothes he wore.

Six Sentence Sunday

(I know it’s like 4am on monday I am simply not perceiving it)

Ty @missypup for tagging me! I’ve actually been making pretty good progress on the last chapter of Atin’tuur for the past few days, so here’s the last 6(??) sentences I wrote!

It didn’t make sense. The entirety of Mos Pelgo’s meager footprint on Tatooine didn’t have room for twenty banthas, much less all their riders included. Another settlement maybe? But no, Mos Pelgo was the only thing out here for miles. The presence of the speeders alone was confirmation enough that they hadn’t just chanced upon a roving band of Tuskens instead.

— Or perhaps not.

As they neared each other, the horned silhouette of the Tuskens atop the banthas at the front of the line was unmistakable. And so were the rumpled appearances of the citizens of Mos Pelgo.

Murmur

It seemed to murmur around the bounty hunter in a way that was… mournful, almost. None of the hostility or anger she expected spiked within the molecules of the air, tainting it with the sordid tone she would associate with someone of his reputation.

"It's a knife, Din." Fennec's voice had grown familiar by now, and the Armorer found her lighthearted cadence easy to pick up on, even from this distance.

Atin’tuur Ch8:

He thought of the little book again, miles away in the heart of Mos Eisley now. Tucked away and hidden where the worn edges of it could no longer be seen.

Maybe it was time to just simply be. To live for himself. To make his way through the galaxy unbidden, doing for himself what he'd done for others' beck and call for some thirty odd years.

"We’ll see. Perhaps not."

Bloodletting for Beginners 

The Barghest is a menace of a ship. A sleek, responsive, deadly creature lies in the shape of it, waiting to be used as Fennec gazes at it in the hangar. There's nothing in it to remind her of the limping shuttlecraft that served her for so long, and she hates it for that.

She knows she'll grow used to it. It makes her hate it even more.

Fennec isn’t sure how much time has passed when the Armorer finally speaks, but the aurora above them has shifted hues a handful of times by then. It’s a beautifully rich red now. The Armorer refuses to look at it.

“I never told Din what became of his homeworld,” she says quietly. “Aq Vetina.”

Intended Meaning:

"Kid's safe. Not here anymore, but he's safe."

"That's a little vague."

"It's complicated." She stresses the last word, and it doesn't miss Boba the way her eyes flick to Bo-Katan briefly. He catches the hint.

Binary Melody:

"No." Another crackle from the comm. "Stay where you are-"

Cobb looks up through the viewport, at the icy landscape he’s found himself in, and the unsteady shelf of ice that the ship now rests.

"That's gonna be a bit hard."

This Soul of Ours:

The third stormtrooper went down with a shot from the Armorer's own blaster. Fennec looked back at that as the combat broke for a moment, and the Armorer's mind guttered to a stop.

She looked, for all the world, like a warrior.

Rejecting the Revenant:

Shards of raw, unrefined beskar line the walls completely, drawing in the light and scattering it in sharp waves of light that look alive.  And while the metal itself is gilded with a dazzling array of colors, the light it reflects back is monochromatic and unwavering, like the source.

Only there's no sunlight down here, no moonlight.

The only light in the room comes from a single point in the center of it, casting out a shimmering white light that feels cold. It bites at the skin, at the nerves. It's unsettling and comforting at the same time. Familiar and not. It's impossible to look at directly and the idea of tearing his eyes away from it is inconceivable.
